People have been requesting it for quite some time.

We need one a.s.a.p. .

I agree I requested it when beta 5 came out hopefully  they intend to do this soon.

I told the Chief last night when he dropped in on Illauna's stream. He didn't say anything, but I'm hoping we'll see one by launch.

I'm already working on my post for the "Ultimate Sci Fi War" mod.

I donno it might be better to add a mod section to the wiki instead. You can create whichever wiki pages you want and I think a good mod section would be great.

I think a modding forum is a good idea. I'll see what the plan is for one, but I also agree with lllauna that a mod section on the wiki would also be a great thing.

If there is one on or at Wiki it would help draw peeps there! more activity there maybe the more INFO we`ll get there.

mod section here too!....... Of course!

Agreed the forum will feed the mod section of the wiki so we need both.

Indeed it'll feed both. Especially when they'll all be linked (at least in common) with Steam Workshop and The Nexus.

My only fear is there is the possibility of fracturing (too strong a word) of the modding community.  I have found that the more we can all agree on maintaining and posting in the same place, the easier it is for everyone.  I kind of dislike the idea of posting and updating things here, then on the Nexus, then the wiki....then in the workshop.  I'm lazy.

That is a slightly valid concern. With different platforms/versions/websites all selling the game and hosting mods, Steam workshop (unless it's not implemented for some reason) is going to have a big community, that's a given. Nexus will probably be substantial as well as some people prefer all their work be uploaded there. The Wiki, of course, but for a wiki unless the mods are also "hosted" on the wiki, I'd expect more of a list to mod pages.

I would always expect a master list of the best mods and active community of those modding the game to be on game's official forums though. If I want to look for other modder's work or other modders to work with, I always find them on that game's site. I would expect other than the odd modder doing something on his or her own most modders and those looking for mods will probably come here as well. The only time I've ever not gone to a game's site and found a mod was on the Steam workshop. Every other mod I've used I found through that game's site, even when that game sent me to the Nexus. I imagine that would be the case with most, but, I might either be giving my-self too much credit or not giving everyone else enough. Maybe more people do go straight to sites like Nexus before going to a particular game's site these days. I can really only speak for my-self personally and my own experiences finding mods.

I would expect most mods to appear on steam workshop once that's integrated, even if they are also available elsewhere. I'd look to a mod forum more for promoting and seeking feedback on mods and help with issues and the wiki for how to guides.

I've seen many people advise to use Nexus or another site instead of the Steam workshop, since (they say) if a mod gets updated Steam will automatically install the update for you, which can break Skyrim saved games.  The way GC3 seems to bake everything into the saved game at the start makes me wonder if this is a valid concern for GC3 mods.  If not, it seems that the workshop would be the way to go.

Good point!!

Nexus is a site dedicated to modding... many modding communities for different games use it - though not all. I may be mistaken, but my impression is that it has decreased in overall use with the development of the Steam workshop.

Nexus is great for mods that Steam won't host for some reason. Sometimes Steam can be a little finicky about what mods stay on the workshop and which ones don't. I've never uploaded any of my own work to Steam workshop yet but that doesn't mean I won't in the future. It just depends on what I make really. Like for the upcoming "Hatred" I'll be modding in a anonymous mask. Steam may or may not allow that for copyright reasons from whoever owns the rights to the Guy Faux mask, so it may or may not be in the workshop after I've done it. If they take it down though, I'll put it up on Nexus for sure.

Thanks!

Nexus has thousands, if not tens of thousands, of mods for Skyrim alone.  I know that several important modders have left Nexus and now host their mods elsewhere, due partly to the Nexus moderators' policies ...

Well I-Mod is where mine will go so there you,.. your point made another place where some one mods will be.

I've downloaded loads of skyrim mods from steam workshop without an issue, but I suppose it could be an issue, not massively concerned though. Yes I think nexus has declined mostly because with steam games that have workshop integration it's an easier way to get more players to notice your mod.

As has been proven here a lot of players won't even know about nexus, which limits your audience if your a modder.

That said it will host content that workshop won't, so we all know where to look for that naked dregin mod  O:)

And there in lies where nexus value comes in. It maybe ,.. because of copy right!! that steam will not allow and Star trek mods where as I-Mod and this nexus may.
