I really like your terran style ships, but with the iconian stuff you've taken it to the next level in terms of craftsmanship, originality and style. So upload soon please :)

Also, Altarian and Yor next plz!

Wow, high praise indeed! :) Ok I will try it this time then, both ships are now in the workshop. Have fun checking them out! And yes, I think Altarian will be next.

Those are really good Terran Destroyers from SOTS.  Can only imagine how tedious it would have been to make the node drive ring.

Something new, something different, something KLINGON!

The most challenging and intimidating ship design I've done to date and this is just small scale.

Star Trek TOS Klingon Bird of Prey Scout Class.

Comments always welcome.

actually, it wasn't that bad- I actually made the ring first, since I was just fiddling around making rings out of various parts. it helps that it ended up being perfectly sized for ten-degree increments, so once I had a custom part for the segments, all I had to do was set the angle-snap to ten degrees and do some quick arithmetic to figure out how many parts I needed. then, of course, I simply made each variant by modifying the initial ship, rather than fiddling around rebuilding the whole thing each time. it took me about four hours to build the ship (I spent a lot of time fiddling with the ring diameter to get it to look right) and the remaining ships took about a half-hour each after that- which isn't surprising, since I was essentially only building a third of the ship, the part that in SOTS would be the Mission section.

and since I used the Torpedo and Spinal Mount sections as bases for two of them, those took even less time, since they share a core hull.

some more examples:

C&C ship, complete with the Giant Spinny Disk Thing and spinny radar dish

A variant intended for Beam/something hybrids (you'll be able to tell my Beam ships, as I'm fond of using lights as the beam apertures or strips)

another destroyer hybrid variant, this one intended for kinetic/missile types.

*battle Music plays in the distance* who doesn't love the ol' Battle Bridge/Armor Cruiser?

First, a fuckton of pics:

second, I've a handful of challenges for you all:

first, the basic one- construct a completely original ship-set using only parts from one of the stock styles other than the Terran one.

second, construct an original ship-set using at least one part from each set in each ship.

third, construct a ship using at least one of every part in the game, discounting the 'custom' set, user-made custom parts, and the cubes.

Finally got around to redo my Babylon 5 Warlock class... The Bow of the ship is hard to do... I think I got the shape right but the color is still a little off.  I also manage to FINALLY finish my Excalibur.

Previous designs are on Steam Workshop.

Bonus:  Something I did for fun....  The ISA 'Valen' Class and the Whitestar.  These are not on steam workshop.  The Valen Class' haul was done by 'Gaunlet' so I will not be releaing this ship to workshop without his explicit permission.  The Whitestar is a work in progress.  I will put it up when I am done :)

Also in steam Workshop:  Vorlon Fleet and the IPX Icarus (if you are a B5 fan you know what ship this is)

Exodus Class Battleship

Large hull, ca 12h build time

Full album

Forgive the pictures taken in the designer. It is unfortunately the only way to show the turrets without them bugging out. A bug messes up the size of composite parts when you use mirroring, and I rather them fixing the bug than waste time and effort manually placing the guns one by one to avoid the bug.

Really love all of these. Iorvar's especially, but also those vorlons are amazing looking too!

For myself, I've been working on shipyards

Some highlights from the vid.

And now for something completely different...

I resurrected one of my simple animated designs from back in the Beta.  Here is a screenshot of the "Slicer", available on the workshop.  The "blade" sweeps around and around constantly.  It is all very simple, but it does have a certain menacing effect, especially in synchronized fleets!

Guanlet.  The shipyard looks great.... How do you plan to incorporate them into the basic shipyard design?

Uhm, I don't understand your question.  Those ARE shipyards building ships. Not a ship that looks like a shipyard.

Just trying to figure out how to set default shipyard :)

If you have your mod redone wtih shipyard maybe I'll just take a look at your mod.

thank you for your help
