Kind of disappointed that we said 27th and whilst its still the 27th its getting quite late on in the 27th and Steam appear to be the ones holding it up (I actually really dislike steam as a company I feel theyre getting worse and worse)

According to the people on #Galciv it won't be available before 1900 UTC. Even then, I am hearing rumblings (rumors, really) that Steam typically has troubles with Alphas.

There's some kind of trouble on Steam right now with the publishing pipeline. :(

Meh, 27th is the 27th, what can you do but (attempt) to wait patiently.

But I do agree, I have been taken aback by some of Valves actions recently regarding the steam platform. (I mean I try picturing using a controller for a game like GalCiv3/Civ5 to play it in the living room and I think it would be an undesirable experience.)

And while I do appreciate that they are showing attention to operating systems other than Windows/Macintosh, the timing is suspicious to me. Like they are getting worried about the Apple and Windows stores built into the OSes. Understandable concern, but I haven't decided yet if they are really trying to be open and all the good joy, or if they are attempting to cloak themselves in it while radicalizing their fan base to adopt a new OS with less competition.

You can play Civ5 with a touchpad pretty nicely. It's really more about how the UI elements work.

As long as they don't mess up our beloved Gal Civ series and get us that download up and running ASAP they will keep me relatively happy with them lol

If the alpha release date had been april 1st, I would be worried by now.

When I registered my Steam Key on Steam I got, in part, the following "Product name: Steam Sub 37748". Does anyone know how this relates to GalCiv3 and its availability on Steam?

I checked my licenses after getting this and Galciv 3 was top of the list so it should be fine

Well just stumbled over the alpha on steam, checked here, and copied the serial from myaccount.

Would have been nice to get an e-mail as notification, instead of finding it out through the steam ad-banners...
