The actual depot has not been published yet so there's nothing for you to download just yet. Once the depot is updated and published, you will be able to download it.
Thanks all. Im good now.

Alpha is still today, you'll get it just as soon as all of the relevant buttons have been pushed and levers thrown. I'll try to pop in and post here when we've confirmed that everything is working on our end (if ID or frogboy don't beat me to it), but you won't screw anything up by adding your GC3 key to your steam account now.
waiting again.
You can also check it under the account details section on Steam.
This is what it looks like.

Ain't it grand!
Thanks satoru1 and abiessener for swift replies. I suppose I'm just a bit too eager for this game! ![]()
You aren't the only one. We Elite founders keep spamming up several different "Are we there yet?" lol.
How atypical! No one else around here is... ![]()
Same here. Mine says "Steam Sub 37746".
When is that in realtime?
Steam sub blablabla activated. guess no game yet
I just checked my "Account Details" like suggested above and sure enough it said "Galactic Civilizations 3" there.
Island dog, I'm highly disappointed... You don't have GalCiv I or GalCiv II installed on the computer... how can you do such a thing?
Are you saying GalCiv III alpha is that good?
By the way, what timezone will receive the midnight release of the game? (obviously released the March 28th @ midnight) I'd be happy with the longitudinal value.
The depot for the game has not been made public. That's why it shows up as a SteamID sub because the official name on the Steam's public facing database hasn't been updated. Thta's also why you don't see any game entry, because the depot is not available to download for public consumption. That's something they set on the back end once they want to release the game into the wild.
If you're super duper hard core you can monitor the sub on SteamDB

Refresh frantically for any updates ![]()
Not having it on Steam isn't the same as not having it on your computer. I have both, but not on Steam.
If I 'really' wanted to troll I could create a non-steam shortcut to Notepad.exe and name it GalCiv3 and post a screenshot
And then much gnashing of teeth and mouth frothing would begin! Hell my Steam profile would say 'In-Game GalCiv3' too!
I don't think there are enough pitchforks and torches world wide for the ensuing carnage ![]()
That's true, but I don't see the evidence
Plus, I really want to know the answer to the second question.
I'd throw you off a cliff, to be frank.
GalCiv 2 wasn't even available on Steam for the first several years, until Stardock sold off its own digital distribution platform, Impulse.
Alpha is still alpha. ;)
I'm not sure what you mean about a midnight release. For the final game?
What part of the world will be at 12 AM March 28th when this goes live?
Ah. I have no idea. All I'm concerned about is EST and getting the alpha out. ![]()
