There's nothing to download if you do that, as noted above. It'll likely appear later. May be best to hold off until Stardock gives the go ahead.

(It doesn't actually show up in my steam library at all right now.)

Yes, but at least I'm just staring at Steam now (willing it to appear in my library), instead of my e-mail, the forum, Stardock's homepage, and Steam as well all at once.

Yeah, it's tough spreading ourselves so thin, now there's only one place to space out on. (No pun intended) :)

Steam updates their pages/servers at 1:00pm UTC-4.  So probably nothing will happen before then.

Another game that I am in an Alpha for was the same way as this, I got the key, put it it and it wouldn't show up until later in the day when Steam updates.  Entering the key worked great though and like others have said now all I have to watch is Steam.

Just a thought; should we make sure our Steam is set to opt into betas under the Settings tab? Not sure if it matters or not.

Got mine and waiting (not patiently). ;)

it shouldn't matter as opt into betas is for steam client beta most of the time.

....

I'm in the steam client beta but it doesnt show up there either after a restart.

It's likely that the appid hasn't been published yet. If anyone has the AppID when you registered the game it would help to sneak around in the SteamDB to find out what's up :)

Could you please tell us if it is still on track for an early afternoon release, though? PLEASE?

Hi there.

I am a Founder.  Are there some steps i need to take to insure the download/game will appear on Steam?   I don't recall during the sign up process any interaction through steam.  I believe the Stardock website handled the purchase.

You'll get a Steam key once its out. Put that key into Steam and it'll download it.

Right now you can get your key by going to Stardock.com and logging in, then going to My Downloads. But there's no alpha to download yet, as it's not out.

You go to https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

And in Galactic Civilization III There will be Your cd-key. You need to register it on steam, then when it will be available to download the game should appear in Your library and You should be able to download it (there's a possibility that You will need to restart steam for the game to appear).

You should have a serial number for the game in your stardock account.

Copy that number/code to the proper place (Games-> 'activate a product on steam') and it should register GC3 on Steam! :D

EDIT; look at me, trying to be helpful. Then two fast-typing whelps swoop in like birds of prey and answer it first! D:

You will need to visit the Stardock website, login and check the my downloads section to get your Steam key.

Enter this in space provided by the 'Activate a Product on Steam' function under the 'Games' tab in Steam.

Then you must wait my friend, for Steam to update...

WAIT! looks like 3-4 people beat me to it. Oh well. Helpful community

I activated my key on Steam and it didn't say "Galactic Civilizations 3" or anything like that. I'm going to assume for the moment that this is because the thing isn't technically available. But did anyone else have something like this happen?
