Happy Holidays from the Galactic Civilizations Team.

As i sit here this Christmas Eve, in front of a crackling fire, snuggled up with a warm laptop, and some GC3 Screen XML, I find myself feeling grateful. It has now been a year since i took over as Designer of GC3, and it has already been one hell of a ride. I am very lucky to have a great game to build from, and such a talented team to work with.

But as I sit reading the Forums,  I realize that i am very lucky to have such a strong community as well, one cares about Galactic Civilization as much as I do. I look forward to 2014, its going to be big one, keep up the good ideas, and even the sometimes harsh, criticisms, Ill keep reading them, weather i comment or not.

So, on behalf of the Entire GC3 Team, I hope everyone has a great holiday season.

Paul Boyer (Mormegil)
Lead Designer.

Merry Christmas as well

Definitely looking forward to the Alpha/Beta (once I scrape up enough dough :P)

Whilst our pitchforks and propane fueled torches may indicate we are a rabid mob out for blood, I do believe that the community as a whole wants the same thing as yourself, the best game evah!. Sometimes designers and the community may not see eye to eye on how that should happen, but I think in the end we all have similar goals. It's definitely hard to know what feedback is useful or even possible, and when you need to put your foot down from a design perspective.

In any case I know I am very excited for the future. Enjoy the holidays!

Merry Christmas hope your having a good holiday. Please remember it's about jesus not a pagan version of santa or a bunch of pagan rituals. The only reason he was born is so he could die for our sins. So by choosing him we are not choosing the original sin we are born with, and becoming a new creation. understanding that we can;t by default overcome the devil, and we need Jesus that through him we might be saved.

I think some of my ideas I come up with will seriously go a long way to make this the greatest stradegy game ever. U think we will need a lot of races.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays for you too. And Merry and Happy anything else you may have. :)

Let the times we're going to live be less interesting than those we have now.

As for community - you shaped and still shaping it, so it's your achievement.

Keep up the good work, stay safe and keep your chin up (mind the bumps, though :)).

You realize Jesus was born in the spring right?  Essentially everything you know about Jesus was taken from other religious leaders myths and applied  to Jesus by his followers.  The story of a messiah that was born to a virgin at the end of December and sacrificed himself to be re-born, was already 1000 years old before Jesus was even born.

...oh, and Merry Christmas.

The point of when Jesus was actually born doesn't change the point of the holiday, or why he came to earth. Actually it would be closer to about 1800 years than a thousand years before he was born when these prophesies came from god, but you probably don't realize that the devil is trying very hard to twist everything that god says. If we are both right on the dates then that means that god came up with prophesies before the devil started twisting them. The prophesies came way before Jesus was born. Now I would agree with all the paganism involved in how people celebrate Christmas this is the devils attempt to draw people away from the meaning of Christmas. That is why I reminded you about what Christmas is really about. Now if you want to celebrate Christmas in the spring go ahead. It is more important that Jesus came as a sacrifice for our sins, and that we need to accept him in our lives because we can't do it without him is more important than the meaning of Christmas. So to sum it up the devil has twisted the prophesies of Jesus long before he came not when he was prophesied, and to make things worse the Catholics not the Christians took a lot of pagan holidays and changed their name instead of teaching them the ways of Jesus. To make things they taught them to read letters of the pope instead of the word of god.

Take it somewhere else, folks.

No good can possibly come from having that discussion on a game forum.

To answer the what question this is about why Jesus was born, and that the devil was twisting the prophesies of Jesus before Jesus was born. god did prophesied the messiah some 2000 years before Jesus. We should always celebreate the resurrection of Jesus anyways. So yes you can do that in the spring to. I do agree that the Catholics not the Christians did borrow pagan holidays instead of being a chosen generation, but that does not give me a reason to celebrate the resyrrectuib if Jesus. Christmas is a really good time to mention this.

Willy, take your proselytizing elsewhere please. This forum is DEFINITELY NOT the place for it.

Ahh...so it doesn't matter if it's true, as long as you believe.  Gotcha.

Please take any arguments regarding religion to Joe User.com (its another internet message board owned and run by Stardock, so you don't need to register a new account). Go there and make a thread for discussing whatever religious stuff you want to talk about, if you really want to talk about it. You may post a link to that thread, but please keep any further discussion of religion out of this thread.
