Very odd game breaking bug?

I have had this bug happen a few times now, and have found zero way of resolving it other than going back to an earlier save. This has happened in sandbox, with out using mods..  and using mods.

Basically what happens, Suddenly i notice my logistics is At zero..  I can't build fleets, and my existing fleets, loose all their ships. All that is left is a Zero number indicator, were the fleet was..

I have zero clue what is happening, what triggers it, or how to resolve it other than going to an earlier save. That seems to fix it, and it coming back seems rather random at best..  Any clue what the heck is going on, because it is a PIA. Especially if i have not been at war, It could be a very long time to have to go back to were the bug is cleared out..   kinda ruins the game session, that is for sure.

anyone else been hit by this, or know a fix, or what triggers it?

The only reason for this I can think of, is the Disease Mega Event. It reduces all your abilities to zero (same for all the other races).

You should have seen a cinematic, with a short description of what's happening below it, in that case. You should also have the Disease Cure tech in your tech tree now (right after Xeno Medicine).

Yes, i did have two events going on..  A disease, and a plague, But curing them did not seem to fix the thing..  I will go back and double check it...

I did not notice the first one.. and then the other one got piled on.

The disease/plague event is generally a great opportunity for the player.

Best I've been able to tell, the AIs will complete their current research project BEFORE turning to research the cure.  This means that every AI will be impacted in direct proportion to their research numbers but vary depending on their progress towards their current project.

A simple tactic is to place as many spies as possible on AI research structures.

One much stronger but somewhat-gamey tactic is to sell them stuff (but NOT what they are currently researching) until they get very low on cash.  Make sure at least one of those items triggers them into upgrading a lot of structures (AIs auto-upgrade).  Next divert spies onto all their economic structures and farms.  Even playing on high difficulty like Suicidal, this may push them under the -500BC limit.  If it does not, it should still reduce their research output a lot.  Meanwhile, the plague is reducing population, stats, etc.

When the disease mega event rolls around, I quickly consider who I want to beat up. This mega event negates all ability bonuses, like bonuses to weapons, defense, hit points, speed, logistics, and soldiering. This makes ships weaker, without logistics you can't make fleets (existing fleets don't automatically get disbanded), and no soldiering makes planet invasions easy. My enemy can't undo this until they research the cure. Just make sure you research the cure real fast, or you'll be in the same boat.

By the time my foe researches the cure, I expect to have destroyed enough ships and taken enough planets that it isn't enough to survive me. Hopefully the gains you get from that war is enough to allow you to beat up the other civilizations.
