First I would like to take the thank  rjhughes67 for taking up this project. Nacey has had a lot of things on his plate and so he has not gotten around to Distant Stars lately. He says he will occasionally pop in with comments and ideas but his time is being taken up else where. I, Ryat, will continue to be forum moderator and master bug hunter for this project. And maybe the occasional change/addition.

Second I would like to thank Nacey, -Ue_Carbon, Draakjacht, Stant123 and Skyline (the originator of this mod) for all of their hard work on this project. Also give thanks to all the modders whose mod projects we used, abused and otherwise mutilated for our own mod.

And finally to our fans. Let's face it. Sins of a Solar Empire is a very moddable game and there are some excellent mods out there. We thank you for sticking with us.

Hopefully I can go large fleets without the game slogging to death. Always played this mod with small fleets.
1.86 is suppose to help a lot with that as well.

Yep. Turns out mediafire is incompatible with something called a "web accelerator", which my (satellite) ISP keeps turned on as a default setting. I disabled it and the download started right away.

I sometimes get that when using Chrome. A switch to (ugh :puke:   ) Microsoft Edge helps as well.

With 1.87 in opt in beta will this mod need anything to run as far as updating?  From what I understand its a few fixes and mainly LAA.

Well the 1.85 versions seem to be working fine with 1.87 beta opt in.

 

Ryat I asked you a few months back what each point in ECM fighters do, I may have missed the answer.  If level 1 unlocks it is there any benefit to researching further other than to make it fully researched and not bugging my OCD?

Did a quick test run and mod runs with game. There are a few issues here and there (one being the settings. No String Found is the new Extreme setting) and there may be others. If you find any please post. I will be very busy this month and any help on that end will be appreciated.

Has the update fixed the crashing issue?

2 GB of ram to 4!!! that has to help!

I've never really had crashing issues with the mod so I am unable to answer or understand why it happens. The LAA update may help to some degree with mod running but the main issue still remains around the CPU usage which will still require a massive (aka rebuild) of the game.

Ryat anyway you can add a mini mod to disable superweapons for this mod?  

I don't think we can add more points into the Starbases and having to place a point into the SB to prevent planet loss....

Thanks.. but I hope Mr Ryat could make the mod better like Crazy Mod of Rebellion.. As far as i know, they integrated some of the existing one like you did but much different..

Sorry for saying this but you're better on some of it, such as adding some minimod that allows building new capital ships, modified pirate army and most expectedly, new addition of units, upgrades, structures and research not existed in Crazy Mod or E4X (except Interregnum)

I hope your next update would rework on capital ships special ability and mostly new units like the one in Maelstrom.. Add Dreadnought Warship for each faction at least would be very appreciated..

Hopefully 2 or 3 units for each faction would do.. 

Other than that.. thank you very much for creating this mod....

I love this mod, I really do.  Been playing it every once in a while since diplomacy.  

Thank you so much for all your hard work.

 

As an aside, I am having minidump issues when starting new games in randomized maps.  The only correlation I've found is that its happening less often in smaller maps than larger ones.  Maybe some planets don't work and whenever one spawns it has a little freak out?  Idk.

So its been awhile since I played sins / this mod and boom minidump.

I'm getting a consistent minidump on orion's belt (ds version). I suspect it has to do with an AI advent rebel vs loyalist fight, multiple capships and the two titans are dueling. 

Any suggestions? I'll reboot on another map but every now and then you get random minidumps from just the game loading too.
