I really like that little medallion down there below my name.  Looks sharp.

Edit: It totally did. Well derp, looks to just take a little bit.

lol...for mine, there was a glitch and it took two days.  Right when I thought it wasn't happening, BING, there it was.

Basically, I think it reads our mind and messes with us.

Mine showed up right after I paid, I must be special B)

Okay, maybe not

Ok, silly question... Is there a way of 'upgrading' from one founder's version to another? I... may have changed my mind and want more! :P

I'd ping [email protected].  If anyone would know, they would.  (double check the address on the site, but I think that's it.)

To upgrade edition, maybe it involves some kind of cancellation/refund of the basic preorder and paying for the Elite option later. But in any case, mailing sales about it as Weidbrewer said is the best thing to do first. :)

@Kia  What about "space  bear cavalry," quick reaction fleet?

I too like the medallion, now time will see if it will gain us respect from the galactic plebs.

Now this is the game that I have been waiting for some time, more excited for this than I have been for anything else in a long time :P

Just posting to see my medal, really.

AFAICT, no stated limits on name length, I'm sure comeone will try to push the envelope. (Not me: 14 character name.)

I was in the same boat Achronous.  Sent Stardock Support a message, they replied back saying they'd cancelled my original order and I could go ahead and purchase the "Elite" edition.  Nice and easy.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I have done exactly that and waiting for their reply/refund. :) (It's a lot of money to pay upfront, but hopefully won't be disappointed, since GalCiv is my favourite of all time and was gonna buy the expansion packs anyway... ;)

I should hope so. On GalCiv II, the expansion packs so completely changed how the game was played, they were practically sequels.

Indeed, which is why I changed my mind about which version I want!

We'll have the rules for what exactly is and isn't permissible in star names when we're ready to take Elite Founders' star names.

Sadly, Xiasdick will probably not make the cut. :(

e: I do actually work here, promise! Bugging the forum guys now to get my fancy Stardock logo under my doofy face.

e2: Woo, I'm official! I feel so honored.

We should get a nice shiny steam badge But onto other topics, star names what do you all think will be the filters for star names?

"Star names subject to Stardock approval; no vulgar or inappropriate names allowed." Having read the other day about "Fort Gay" issue in XBOX, I wonder if Stardock will find many "challenging" ones.

nothe when every day you have to deal with a bunch of idiots trying to put "HitlerXKondomz" as Gamertags, you can forgive them if they thought "Fort Gay" wasn't an actual place"

When i saw i could name a star in a game the first thing i did was tell the Mrs i was going to name it after her. She's very very very pleased with that and has been incredibly affectionate (wink wink nod nod) since she found out i was naming a star after her.

Thank you Stardock this is turning out to be the best money I've ever spent o7  .

I played GalCiv II when it was out.

Then I moved onto... other stuff (I left a clue for you).

Then I saw GalCiv III announcement. I was wildly interested. I went straight for the pre-order page.

Then I saw the Elite version availability.

Then I saw the price.

Then I went back to the Regular Preorder.

Then I glanced at the features of the Elite Version. Just, you know, to see what these suckers would claim is worth sixty bucks.

Then I saw you could name a star.

Then I spent a friggin hundred bucks.

Guys, can't wait for the alpha. Ascalteia will be my star, and it's gonna bring you good fortune.

ChicknAfraid out.

Not sure what to name my star, but I have a list of candidates. Almost all of them are from the Firefly Universe.  XD

Ironically this is probably cheaper than your usual scam 'star registry' website, AND you get an actual GAME with your purchase.

A wise investment indeed!

Up until you have to take over said star system because well you know, the galaxy needs conquering.

Ye flippin' gods, man...that's...that's...

<calls to wife>  Hey, hon!  Want a star named after you?

Hmm. You know, it just occured to me that we could get the same effect by modding the game. Granted, other people wouldn't see our star names, but so what?

Too bad I don't have a girlfriend: the whole idea of naming a star after her sounds like a good tactic.
