Ever wanted to give the people more of a voice in your channeler's kingdom? Now you can have public forums and a senate. Only one problem...

...A lot less military funding!

This mod introduces the Res Publica faction trait, which jolts your economy at the expense of a strong military. Much higher unrest will disguise the huge economic potential of the Republic. If you can survive the low public support for a military (hint - heroes!), your society will be the envy of Elemental!

 

 

INCLUDES:

Carian Faction, with Republic Faction Ability:

-Republic government makes your start very challenging. But the open society of a true republic means if you survive to late game, your economy will be an overwhelming powerhouse!

-Start one difficulty level lower than normal - being a Republic in a kingdom and empire world is hard, and staying alive early game is a challenge. But the Republic is a refreshing new experience!

-Conclaves and Towns have many new economy-boosting improvements. You could almost ignore fortresses altogether!

-Fortresses are still useful, but are weighed down by much greater food, gold, and growth penalties.

-Unique unit designs catered to the Republic economy

-Use the Republic Trait ability in your custom made factions!

 

Merit Before Blood Ability:

-You can acquire henchmen right from the start. They can be Trogs, Quendar, Tarth or Amarian, regardless of your faction's race type. They might even be non-humanoid!

Who knows what kind of magical potential is hidden out there?

 

Secret Societies Faction Ability:

-New improvement that juices research but increases faction-wide unrest. Also unlocks two skill books that give experience directly, or up the whole army's xp rate!

-Unique new henchmen (two sets, one set available from the beginning, but also very useful!). Get to Higher Education and you can train these henchmen that turn the savage magic of the Trogs right back against them!

-Use this ability in your custom made factions!

-Includes Level 6 and 7 cities!

When used with XtraDeconstruct, does it matter that there is overlap between the X D preload and the Republic on the level 6 & 7 city mod? Is the Republic version different and required for the Republic to work properly, or can one of the files be deactivated to reduce system overhead? Thanks!

Spent weekend playing your mod.  Best mod 4 LH imho.  Sees to work fine with v2.0   except the elemental affinity aspect.

cant get the 'swimming pool' etc going.. and when I change terrain to get  a plus and minus with the two elements - it says "string not found."  I think string is coding lingo?

Did you put Life_Death.str into the Mods/Data folder? That should eliminate the string not found message.

If you mean the Shimmering Pool improvement, it requires 20 wave essence before it can built at a conclave. Flood four tiles with the Flooding spells and you can build it.

Oh, Davrovana?  What would I have to tweak to get the Snaking mod to work with Republic piers and lumber mills?  Or could you whip up a version for that?

 

For Kingdom, i can incite a forest if I leave a spot so I can have a lumber mill later, but my poor, poor piers...

Also, Dav?  I just searched my computer, and I don't have Life_Death.str, and I have the latest version of Between Life and Death downloaded from Nexus.  No sign of that file anywhere.

Feedback: The t sword summoning spell does not produce anything - but does consume the resources.  The notes say one may only summon one t - weapon, however, nothing prevents multiple summonings, until you run out of wep types - can summon one of each, mace, etc.  Still best mod tfor FE:EH I have played so far.  Question: does it play well with he snaking mod?  :)

LH 2.0 broke the <ApplyToCaster> tag temporarily, that's why it is allowing multiple summons. Working on that.

As for why you didn't get the item...that's a new bug! Do you remember which ones you cast, and got nothing?

All is well.

I have used verdant, etc. to get items, evoke battle spells (tactical screen) and summoned a verdant animated forest.  All very nice.  I grew forests all over my domain, to get the verdant amount up, and to hinder any invaders.  @your post:  The only item that the weapon-maker did not actually deliver was the sword.  All the other t items worked fine. As far as the string missing message:  That shows up only when mouse over the verdant (and other) indicators at the top of the main screen (same bar as with crystal production, money, etc).  It doesn't seem to actually affect game play... Snaking mod lets the bridges build correctly - yea!  All in all - a great uber mod!   +1

Quick question:  how do I get a sorcerer? IS it all chance of the hero draw?  Anything a plat yer can do to increase the odds?

They do show up from time to time, but when I want to go sorc, I make my Sov a sorc, or train a henchman for it.

 

Though I did learn that training an Exemplar as a sorc or mage didn't seem to accomplish anything.

Only way to increase the odds is to mod in more sorcerer heroes so they represent a larger percentage of the available heroes. I have to focus on bugtesting/preparing for LH 2.0, but if you want to design up a sorcerer or two, I could add them into the mod...

Actually, I just discovered player may choose to make a new hero a paladin or sorcerer, the choices are in the screen, just hidden from view.

There's a stand alone mod from, I think, xtradeconstruct that makes more room on the path choice screen.  6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 path options displayed at once, depending on which you install.  I use the 7, of course, to work with Paladin and Sorc.
