More DLC´s on the way?...or not

So Forbidden Worlds have been on sale for almost 2 months, additionally there has been another Steam Sale (which i am sure few more people used to buy Rebellion), so how does it sell? Good enough to give us another DLC? Or is it still too early to tell? Or the decision, whether there will be one or not, is completely independent of DLC sales?

Independent of DLC sales are the limits of the game engine. With 2 GB of RAM being the possible maximum, the devs are rather limited on stuff that can be added without hitting said limit in large games. Being a single CPU software as well, lag is also an issue.

There's discussion of it. Nothing concrete yet.

Plenty of skilled 5s games are already lagging, which sucks because there are often decisive battles taking place at choke points that truly do need to be fought out in order to determine the course of the game.

It's pretty easy to fix the 5s games in theory though... nerf bombers hard enough to be taken out of the metagame except as Cap/HC counters.  ;)

And this addresses the LF/vette spam how?

I can near promise you that carriers with their strikecraft lag the game more than Corvettes do. Though I suppose Vasari bombers, the one you see the most, could be an exception.

Maybe, but when I build 200-300 corvettes... Have you seen the poly count on these things ;)

The game is limited by CPU, not GPU.And the CPU is stressed by the very large amounts of bombers... after all every single squadron has multiple crafts.

And for people playing online with less than adequate video cards?

stop Sins DLCs coming. Get us Sins2.

I would imagine that system configurations that have a video card that cannot handle Sins, most likely wont have a CPU capable of handling it either.

That would be Ironclad's job. And they are currently locked up in another project. DLC from Stardock is the best we can hope for.

So that I7 that uses a on board graphics driver with normal RAM... maybe not.

Yeah, creative DLC is fine by me.

Thanks for the response. Hopefully you will decide for another one in the end.

That said, ultimately i felt bit underwhelmed with Forbidden Worlds...despite that i am sure you can always come with something exciting (to me) the next time.

What kind of things would you like in a DLC? Just more planets? I don't really want those ...

I would like extra research options in the early game (first 30 minutes) and the very late game (after 2 or 3 hours). Dunno which.

In the very late game, perhaps make nearly unlimited research possible ... like "advanced ship upgrades" level 1 to 99 ... to give you something to waste your money on in very long games against the AI. Also increase ship cost if you go for such advanced ship upgrades - after all, better tech means more expensive goodies on your ships ... to the point that only really large economies are able to produce highly advanced ships. (Just a random idea).

Well I would like an up dated galaxy forge with all the new DLC stuff including all the new bonus especially Fortress world

Give me a fourth race as DLC and I might just consider getting back into that game. For now, I keep playing DotA 2 in very high skill pool.

Man I am so much better at that game than at Sins lol. So funny to see old time Sins players like Quar, Newplayer and Hiroge struggle at that game instead. Do miss the good old days tho... v_v

A DLC will just never be able to add a 4th race. I'm not sure a 4th race will ever fit into the Sins lore, but either way it will require a new Sins Engine which I hope Ironclad will embrace soon.

I know mate. Just throwing a wild desire out there. I would be happy with any DLC because I am still a huge fan of this game, and I just read Yarlen's reply on another thread in which he stated that another DLC idea is already being finalyzed. So once that's made available I will be sure to check it out.

Sins 2 would be awesome though, but I am not counting on it (at least I don't expect it to arrive in the near future).

You'd be surprised... I guess it depends which I7 you're talking about, But I got myself one of the Haswell I7's when they came out and a new video card. However, the video card didn't arrive when the rest of the PC did, so I figured I'd try out the integrated graphics on it in the meantime. Full screen Anti-aliasing and physx were not even an option, but I was able to run Arkham Asylum on the highest settings without any kind of lag.

I'm thinking now that every time I run a game with the g-card that I got this part of the CPU just sitting idle... wish I could put it to work.

I am still hoping for the fourth race to be whatever the Vasari are running from.

Even if not them, I would not be surprised if another race comes for revenge because one of the three screwed them, and all have a good chance of having being dicks before, the TEC already offed the Advent's ancestors, who's to say it did not happen more than once?

The Advent might have wiped some 'heathen' in their exile.

The Vasari have been running around for millenia, and while this is the first time they find a starfaring race, who is to say another of the lower tech ones before got so angry at them they rushed space tech and are coming for revenge?

After all, this is the whole point of the game, all races are paying for the sins.

It aseems Ironclad went under with Sins of a dark age,

support doesnt reply, updates and forum activity is scarce,

most interesting commander mode was scrapped,

partner that was charging supporters went away...

I surely hope they'll return home to Sins2...ASAP.

I can assure you they are alive and well. Sins of a Dark Age is just in another dimension for the time being  - think of it as incubating.

Iron Clad should just concentrate on the Nitrous Engine from now on and get sins 2 out.
