Missing forum features?

1: is there a way to search the forums? The search box just seems to be Google, and I'm sure people have asked these questions before, and I don't want to be annoying bugging you with classic FAQs, but there you are.

2: In the drop down menu on my nick, when I chose "email hfball" it says I have "chosen not to receive emails." Is there any way I can elect to receive email replies? I already checked "show email" in my profile, but that doesn't seem to have done anything.

newb out. :star:

Welcome aboard, hfball.

1: While the search is powered by Google & it looks like a Google search return page, I think it is searching only the forums.

2: Not sure.  One of the SD mods or staff will most likely chime in & let you know.

Old fart out. :-"

1) Searching: The Current search does use Google but it only searches our forums system (which includes all our sister forums).  But we are in the process of writing our own search engine to replace the current search.

2) Email Replies.  I'm not sure what you are actually looking for, but we are implementing a new system where you can subscribe to a post and have it send you an email when new replies are made to that post.  If that is what you are looking for it should be available soon.

If all goes to plan both of the above mentioned features should be available in about 2 weeks time.

" Seems changes are a foot..." and visibly so in the forums..gone are what number you are when you joined, replaced with just the join date and a tab about karma points. Looks nicer that way!  But missing the edit, quote and give karma buttons....but maybe that is just temporary!

FF 19.0 - all buttons work... adblock off for SD and WC. Doubt that's the issue... other browsers, that doesn't affect it one way or another.

you're right!  I usually use Chrome and Dragon because I had issues with FF freezing. Anyway tried FF and I see can use all buttons.  And Mike, I can click on the user name and it does give me info...but not with Chrome.

FF19 & Chrome 25 not working for me still  :omg:

Not showing all the buttons in IE 9 and clicking the name takes you no where.

I also seem to have to keep signing out and in again in forums because of seeing adverstisements in IE 9.  If I leave the forums and come back the advertisements are there again.

Everything is working in FF 18.0

Okay one more for the IE 9 list, in threads where there are screenshots the screenshots are too big and hitting F5 to redraw doesn't work.  :sun:

Resizing/draw partially working in ff 19 for screen shots.

Doc, how long you been a WIZOP?

Cool beans!

Just to see if it would help I closed out IE 9 and cleared cookies and history.  It didn't help.  Thought I would pass that on.

Karma/Quote buttons not showing up on replies on PaleMoon 19.0.1, though they (Karma, Report, Quote, Reply) do show up on the OP.

I tried selecting the compability mode in IE 9, don't do that, it messed up the Facebook, Twitter and You Tube buttons at top.
