[eMod][v 2.4] River City Bridge ...

[eMod][v 2.4] River City Bridge ...

This adds a new building that provides you +2 food per grain, and is a bridge over a river. Namely you build this on a river tile and it builds a bridge for your city to build on either side of the river.

The river bridge can be built whenever you reach a river from your city (similar to my snaking mod). It is seperate from the snaking mod for piers and lumbercamps. So you can play the original concept with no snaking for piers and lumbcamps and play with this mod that allows for snaking across rivers.

Just unzip the file into your ..\documents\my games\fallen enchantress\mods\ folder.

If you would like to see an alternate version of this where snaking is not allowed. Namely you have to build it next to your city center, let me know and I'll make an alternate version.

Enjoy. Updated with new icons, the icons aren't great but they should work.

I've tried to make the river bridge buildable on SW rivers, but failed:

1) I've copied the xml with the basic info ( preferred terrain etc. ) , and renamed it. gave the bridge a different internal name, and gave it preferred terrain = category:city ( since the new rivers are considered to be in city category ) and then specified each river type individually.

the bridge shows up in the build menu, but at first it says "not enough space" . after a short while, it becomes buildable but it can be placed on land tiles instead of the river. not sure what's wrong with it :D

Heavenfall suggested that this wouldn't be possible to do. It is the main reason why I didn't try. If you do succeed in placing a bridge over one of his rivers, then the tile artwork would disappear. If you were going to do this you will probably have to change the terrain types of each of SW river type. But this will lead to art issues with SW rivers.

Much of the stuff I've done I don't think needs too much modification to work with LH, since I didn't really change any core files and I added things that have no bearing on stuff they've changed. So a lot of my things can just port over without actual editing.

Yeah, I was guessing that, but it would be so easy for a little name change or value preset to be different and would screw the whole thing up, so I figured I'd ask the compatability question anyways, just in case. ;)
