Corrupt file from download.stardock.com?

Corrupt file from download.stardock.com?

Three attempts to download, three times corrupted, two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox).

Anyone else having this? I never had problems downloading files before.

This is actually to help tech support identify whether it is a common problem or maybe something specific to the user. If it is a common error, then there is a error in the program. If it is isolated, then there is a conflict with the users machin
This.

More info is better than no info. Every Time.

Used SDC. Took a little while to download, but installing now just fine. SD should sticky a note to use SDC or something to make everyone's life easier.
SDC has it's own peccadilloes.  It's just one *other* option.
Glad it's working for everyone on this thread though.

Happy gaming!

A small Stardock Central update with additional logging for errors has been pushed out. We're putting additional retries into place if it hits a speed bump in the download process, but that's still being tested internally. Best additional suggestion testing here today: exclude the %USERPROFILE%\Downloads\Stardock directory from your anti-virus, or turn the AV off during the download. We've got at least one reproducible test case with file i/o getting blocked by the AV during download.

You can also email kwilas at stardock dot com and I can provide an alternative download in smaller chunks in the meantime.

Based on feedback and error logging on the server, we've put together an updated Stardock Central that should handle some conditions better.

https://stardock.cachefly.net/stardockcentral285-setup.exe

Added checking md5 of chunks after each chunk is written to disk (vs just in memory)
Added retries around the new code path for checking md5 after the chunks were written
Added additional error logging to server (for more verbose reporting of md5 vs file locking timeouts)
Updated file handler to improve compatibility with anti-virus scanning during downloads
Additional retries around in-memory md5 errors
.tmp file directory moved to LOCALAPPDATA\Temp\StardockCentral (to avoid indexing)
Updated error message on some IOException's to suggest temporarily disabling anti-virus

This should probably be mentioned on The Fallen Enchantress Support FAQ as well: https://forums.elementalgame.com/433245

I am facing problem with downloads as well. I have tried using download from the store. All attempts ended with corrupted file with 347MB data been downloaded. I have tried using SDCentral and ended with this error msg at 36% completion.

There is a problem downloading the install file for Elemental: Fallen Enchantress: Error retrieving file due to WebException.

I exited SDCentral and restart the download, it continue from the 36% where it left off. Hope it gets completed.

I've had all sorts of problems and logged a complaint with the support section.  I've installed, and the executable shortcut appears on my desktop.  However, each time I go to play I get an error that the game can't start because dbghelp.dll is missing.  I verified that the dll is where it should be in my Window directory, so I can't figure out why it isn't working.  Now when I go to uninstall to try one again the uninstall fails.  Very, very frustrating to pay good money for a game that won't run!

I'm having the "corrupted file" cannot install thing through Stardock Central for patch Ultimate 2.04 with Firefox.
It worked fine for the first patch 1.something.

Hope it works this second time (almost 2 GB at 180KB/s in my part of  the woods) if not I'll try with IE.
Don't want to beat a dead horse (yes, I've read the relevant threads) but standalone patches would be so much more practical in my opinion.

Edit:
can't be through FF if it's through Stardock Central, can it? :S
and on the Store/My Account/Downloads page there is either the SDC or the entire game (Download+Retail Box) download option.
Would that be the up-to-date patched version? Or I'd have to update it through SDC as well?
Thanks!

Edit2:

it worked this time, but it installed a whole new gamee in a different folder, details in this thread:
