This is my first thread so don't mind if the topic is messy or something.



I will make 3 levels when i post and hopefully more will be posted.

Highskilled [H] 9-10 skilled
Skilled [S] 7 or more
Regular[R] 6 or less
EDITED ABOVE TO CURRENT.

I will also start adding if there are suecide players in the game & if there are eco players in the game.



First up: This is an intense game with alot of skilled players E.g. PlayerSlayer, Diehard, Carpetbomb, Ooloo and more.

The Deciding Factor in my opinion is Carpetbomb being able to defeat his opponent faster then anyone else and then being able to feed his team.
Tho I think there is alot of intresting 1v1's going on in this game but Carpet sent ~50k Cred and some of Metal/Crystal
Vs My teams 0, Thus ending the game.

I made a big misstake losing my Progren and wasn't able to recover from that and I also upgraded my fleet supply to fast resulting in a ~200 Supply being unused after I lost my Cap...

The most even matchup here is Ooloo vs Diehard in my opinion, also I would like to point out that Diehard is almost getting 0 Feed compared to the others in his team and still outperforming.

Guide to watch replays:

How to watch them?

  1. download file from the link provided 
  2. Copy file to C:\Users\{name}\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\AutoRecord-MultiPlayer 
  3. start a game 
  4. go to single player
  5. click on watch button tab 
  6. keep clicking on change save type button until you get to Multiplayer auto-recorded games 
  7. find the file name that you extracted in step 2
  8. Click on watch button

I would have posted a replay that happened I think just this past Friday.  I was in a 5v5, Grimm and The_Hump were on my team...I don't recall the other two.  Anyway, Grimm was really getting his ass hammered...I was the usual fat kid on our team, but it worked out because the fat kid on their team was right next to me, and he and I essentially had been fighting on and off to a stalemate, so not too much action on our side of the map.  Grimm is then down to like 2, maybe just 1 planet left....it seems pretty certain it's gg. 


I don't know who managed to come in and help him out on their side of the map, but Grimm got fed and managed to stabilize for a while.  I wasn't sitting by idly this whole time though....got my eco going pretty good and got a titan built.  The_Hump was next to me and decided to bring his fleet + titan down and we overran enemy team's fat kid.  Worked up a strategy that he would start steamrolling one guy (don't remember his name), I took my fleet and headed toward zotkar's eco planets.  Within a few minutes afterward we had won the game.

 

Not only were the teams pretty well matched up, but the map positioning worked out great too.  I was stoked to watch the replay after that game had finished.  Only to find out I had forgotten that I'd upgraded to the new patch and DLC and forgot to re-enable auto-record.  ARRRGHHH!!!   If any of you other guys remember that game and have the recording, please post it.

 

Lol i was in that game and was the ECO guy who saved grimm! I remember you now, you did ok but played well to expansive in a position which was too frontline with eco player behind. I think i said that to you in game :)

 

I ll see if i have the replay somewhere, do you remember the time of game?

I'd like to watch, but I can't get the replays to work. Running latest version of rebellion and both DLC. When I put the files in the appropriate folders they still dont show up in game :/

Did not know this. Why is that?

Is it true or just something someone made up? I know the other guy got banned but was that the reason?

I'm not definitively saying that stardock bans people who posts replays... But just a week after I post my second one in my own skilled thread, my account gets banned... Coincidence??!? I think not...

I remember watching your replays when I started playing about 1 year ago (some of the later ones- as the early ones didn't work due to version mismatch). Was disappointing when you said you wont be posting anymore.

I look forward to seeing more of your replays (I hope you start posting).

Lastly, stardock isn't banning anyone for sharing recorded replays. These guys are just trolls (just take a look at the forum- and you'll see the same guys trolling almost every thread or starting pointless topics).

oke will be posting in the next couple of days.

Edit: This is a 2v2. Dumdee drops and we call it GG.

I'm paired vs Bruno, Who is in my opinion a skilled player, tho he doesn't play so much during the evenings with the others.
I did pretty decent regarding being inactive for so long.
We got some nice fights going. Haven't checked the replay so I Dunno how the action is vs Dum and his opponent.


Feel free to ask questions. Also new people and less skilled regulars, look how I expand, expanding like this may be basic for most regulars and all skilled but for new people that think it's hard to keep up with the pace, this is the best way.
Maybe with the exception to totally skip the Volcanic in a 5s.

Using the newest version with all DLC's.


Here is a game from just now but it got a sandwich which I think is important.

Tips for noobs who just give up, don't. in a 5s try to relocate if u get raped.

Maybe I've gotten too lazy, I used to do descriptions.


This game is Is midlvl with some players from the higher tier.

Jbaum is in a suicide spot but manages to relocate and harrass other players for the entire game.
As I've said earlier, don't just ragequit if u get a badspot/get wiped early. Try to survive.

Overall this game is kinda gimmicky with some wierd stuff going on around the map.

But as with any other game, there is things to learn here.

Carpet is going for the opponents eco which in my opinion wouldn't been so effective if Efe woulda attacked carpet earlier, eventho, Carpet coulda gotten fed a little earlier and maybe he coulda pulled it off.

last game from yesterday.

It's a really good game.
Germack vs Spockimpossible. Germack picks out spock fast but spock manages to relocate.
Me and Efe got a stalement for a while but that is probably because I opened with Kol and couldn't play agressive with a Kol Vs a Corsev and Efe having a really bad map.

Carpet fighting sleeper for the entire game. Sleeper is getting tons of feed so he manages to hold.
Traxsin And Fluid Karma in eco spots. Both expanding towards Carpet/sleeper and it basicly evovles into a 2v2 on that side.
Someone I can't remember the name of is fighting Atlantis.
Takes some time there and iirc there is some good action going on there.

Overall a good game, map is pretty broken but turns good anyway.

One other thing i noticed (besides the power of KOL and flak), is that veteran players seem run their LF's through advent LF's (then turn) in order to deny the opposition fire (while malice is active), when playing against malice (you can see clearly when malice activates by its animation so easily enough to do).

I tried it out in my recent fights against advent players as TEC  and seems to help quite a bit to hold ones own against advent, particularly in early rush type game.

Albeit i need to do more experimenting as I am not sure how effective this tactic is against malice just yet, but anyways on first impression it does seem to help.

Running your own LF trough your opponents when they activate malice can negate a majority of the dmg from Malice as you're forcing the discs to Turn instead of firing.

Feel free to ask for advice.

Fast game with some of the best players in Sins. Including: Doci, Grimm, Fallen, Oli, Bender, Krusher, Dumdeedum and more. Sadly there is a Weak link and the game is ended quickly.

Contains 2 ecos for both teams and a sandwich. Alot of funzies.
Fastpaced and alot of action. If you're new and wanna Learn how to 5v5(5s) watch this.
