Unless I'm not understanding the mechanic, political advertisements are not working right as the game progress.  Here's the sanity test I just did for myself before posting:

Playing an epic game.  This occurred week 76/121.  Flew my custom candidate to PA to drop a TV add about how I want to reduce unemployment.  Created the advertisement successfully and got the little notice across the scroll bar at the top.  The money was deducted from my campaign.  Unfortunately, no TV icon showed up in the state.  

Hit the turn button, no mention of my ad in the "News".  Still no TV icon.  And the ad does NOT show up in my campaigns assets.  

I believe, though I can't say for sure, that the game is screwing up the data for the ad because I'm ending up with similar ads in states that I don't remember placing (like Arizona).  It could just be my memory (I wasn't keeping track of the ads outside of the game in any way), but I don't think so.  Also, I'm getting ads that I'm pay the monthly fee for that are actually benefiting my opponent (Al Franken supports reducing unemployment). I'm pretty certain I did not place those.
