They renamed the main executable so your old shortcuts and Start Panel won't work.  The main program used to be CursorFX.exe or CursorFXPlus.exe.  Now you have CursorFX Control Panel.exe.

So fix your shortcuts guys.

We need some data.

If you are having this issue please report the following:

  • Do you have a previous version of CFX installed? (previous to 2.11)
  • What version do you have installed?
  • How did you install the earlier version CFX?  (Stand-alone, SDC, Impulse)
  • Do you see that version of CFX in the installed software list in SDC?
  • Do you see 2.11 on available on the web store?
    • If not, what do you see?
  • Do you see 2.11 in SCD?
  • Describe your problem.

Thanks.

Installed on two rigs.

XP-2.11      Win7/64-2.11

SDC for both.

2.10 shows as installed and 2.11 still shows as available in SDC.

No problems launching or using the control panel on either unit.

Thanks for looking into this Zubaz,

I had CursorFX 2.10 installed and initially I had used Impulse, but then when it went away I uninstalled, did a registry clean and installed the stand-alone version.

As stated before I now uninstalled and reinstalled via SDC after a registry clean and reboot, but it still says version 2.10 when I click About, it still shows version 2.10 in SDC, and it still shows version 2.10.023 at the store for me as available.  It does show on my list of installed software in SDC.

I am on Windows 7 64-bit. I did not check my XP or Vista as I really don't use them any more, but I don;t think that would make a difference.

Are you having an issue Doc?  I'm not seeing it in your note.

Everyone having this issue, whn you log into the web-store and mouse-over the download button are you seeing 2.10.x?

Or, are you seeing the following?

No, I am seeing version 2.10.023 when I do that, and mine says "Cursor FX Plus (Upgrade)".

Installed from SDC, CursorFX Plus 2.11

W 7  64bit

Shows as installed.

Then SDC opens. I no longer have Cursor 2.11 in the updates section. It shows installed.

I can no longer access from icon.

This sign pops up before SDC  opens.

I'm seeing the same thing.  Could this be an account problem rather than a problem with the update?  My Object Desktop subscription expires on 3 Dec 2012.

CFX is not part of ODNT . . so it is of no import.

Perhaps I should have also asked to describ the issue you are having in my earlier post

What is the issue you having?  It looks like you are ready to install/upgrade.

Zubaz, what ever you did worked, version 2.11 in now showing up in SDC and on Stardock, My Account, My Downloads page for me.

EDIT:  Everything is working now as expected, my shorcut for CursorFX opens it with no problems.

No issues.

Started with CFX uninstalled (a few weeks ago) using CCleaner (it was malfunctioning).

Thought I'd put up data with good results (no problems installing)... maybe starting with a 'virgin' system might help in the analysis of where the problem for these folks lies... maybe not.

Worked for me Zubaz! Thanks! I did however have to go and manually change the link to the program from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\CursorFX\CursorFX.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\CursorFX\CursorFX Control Panel.exe" to get it to work.

What is the issue you having? It looks like you are ready to install/upgrade.

I have installed/upgraded on 7/XP and CFX itself is working fine. As reported previously, the issue I have is with SDC showing 2.10 as installed and 2.11 as an available update.
