Hi all I thought I would share some of the banners I have made for custom factions in my own games.   I find it fun to create them and use them in game.

Here is an image of the banners included here.  I will include more as I make them or if people request something.

To install - just unzip to the mods folder found here: My Documents/My Games/FallenEnchantress/Mods

 

Unfortunately, they will not show up in the faction creator. I'm trying to figure out why, but you can just edit the logo part of the xml and put the name of the logo you want to use (just use the file name minus the .png - remember case matters).

 

edit:   I have made several other custom banners that can be found in the thread.  Let me know if you have other suggestions or requests.

 

edit2:  The majority of the art here is taken from the Elemental or Fallen Enchantress game to be used for modding purposes only.  Please don't use this art for any commercial purpose.  If you have a question about something specific let me know.

Each of those crests in the game have a matching XML file.  You'll need to create one for each of your custom ones.

Oh, link would be good wouldn't it...duh..     :blush:   Yes, the xml file is included for the logos, but they still don't show up in the faction editor.  :grrrr:

 

Let me know if you need something specific (like for expanded factions for example).

Murteas, do you think you could come up with a logo for elves? Their theme is forest, magic, immortality, bows, deer (mount), hopelessness. Their faction colour is the same as Tarth, a slightly dark green.

I really like this one, it fits perfectly. Can I use it? The others are beautiful as well, but there's a bit too much detail for the size of the logo.

The tree is actually an icon from the game.  I converted it to a .png if that is helpful, otherwise it is a .dds file.  Here is my png version:

I'm talking about the brown, oriental-looking tree on the Crest with the shard, bow and deer.  It's perfect for a cloth map icon for a resource I'm creating.

Sure, that tree is also in the Elemental files.  It is located here:  FallenEnchantress\Gfx\TacticalIcons\Resource_OldGrowthForest.png in your game files.

Yeah, most of the stuff I do is modified game art.  That way it stays with the artistic theme of the game.

Murteas, do you think you could help me out with a new logo for the Living Stone? Their theme is earth, defense, new culture, born from fireshards. Their faction colour is red (altar style).

I could use a logo for gnomes and frost giants, if you're up for it.

Frost Giants: Giants, cold damage, bears, great axes, light blue

Dwarves: Beards, master craftsmen, fortress builders, maces, runemagic, brown

I honestly hope the devs gets access from you guys, and use these in the game too!
Also wish I had 10ish background and 10 ish symbols so I could mix and match those parts myself.

For example having a battleaxe, then choosing a background that matches the colour of my faction.
