Hi all I thought I would share some of the banners I have made for custom factions in my own games.   I find it fun to create them and use them in game.

Here is an image of the banners included here.  I will include more as I make them or if people request something.

To install - just unzip to the mods folder found here: My Documents/My Games/FallenEnchantress/Mods

 

Unfortunately, they will not show up in the faction creator. I'm trying to figure out why, but you can just edit the logo part of the xml and put the name of the logo you want to use (just use the file name minus the .png - remember case matters).

 

edit:   I have made several other custom banners that can be found in the thread.  Let me know if you have other suggestions or requests.

 

edit2:  The majority of the art here is taken from the Elemental or Fallen Enchantress game to be used for modding purposes only.  Please don't use this art for any commercial purpose.  If you have a question about something specific let me know.

Heavenfall,  I'll start working on them.   I'll put something up as soon as I have some samples to look at.

 

Kongdej - Thanks! If you are interested,  I'd be happy to make a custom flag.  It actually isn't that bad to make your own if you want to learn.  Have you ever used gimp?   http://www.gimp.org/

 

It is what I use to make the banners.  There is a plugin that someone made for Elemental, that makes the flags in whatever colors you want and then I just add the various components on top of it.

what about a pirate type flag, skull & crossbones

ofcourse we don't really have minor factions 'yet', but maybe some titans could still be worshiped by some (havn't read tha books, not sure if the titans of old have descriptions of their banners)

a guillotine, gallows, other torture devices

I like the tablet with the swirly hammer, and the anvil with maces. Which one do you like better?

I prefer the Anvil I think.   Although I think either could work depending on what you what to emphasize.   Any changes you want to either?

Hmm I think it needs some tweaking to line up with the in-game ring used to limit logos. The anvil isn't quite centered and the bottom left mace is partially hidden.

Possibly you could also turn the bottom left mace 180 degrees.

Place superimpose a single hammer over the anvil similar to the way I did the bow on the tree in my logo.

Okay, time for the frost giants.  A few different ideas here, but I'm not sure if they fit what you want, so feel free to give suggestions according to what direction you want to go with them.

Do you think you could make the central light a little more even? It sort of flows a bit to the left. Or maybe move the mountain/river layer a bit to the left. So the white light is appearing a bit closer to the middle of the mountain.

Okay, here is a redone image.  I made the mountain a little bigger and tried to get the light more centered in the mountain as opposed to centered in the banner.  I actually like the original one better.  I'll see if I can slightly alter the first one to get it how you want.  Unfortunately, it is a little harder said than done as I didn't save the layers.

Maybe just pull it to the left a bit so the white is in the center of the image. Then just erase the left-most parts of the black lines. Just a thought.

re-uploaded the file with the light a bit smaller.   It looks better.  I just couldn't get the light to work when it was so big.   

 

edit:  You're talking about the Original Image correct?

Its ok, its not that important to me, but would be so easy for the devs to include some fan-made logoes ;)
With the custom flag: Nah I tend to "come up" with my faction inside the faction editor, while looking over the options (I feel abit limited by the colours anyways, hard to make right I guess :S)

Just wanted to say its nice to see something like this
I guess there will be a mod out after release with a whooooole bunch of logoes ;)

No, your new one. I just really need the light to be centered in the middle of the picture. Otherwise it will look very bad when the logo is shrinkrayed in-game.

It is for the Lizardmen which will be the 13th faction in Stormworld_ExpandedFactions.

Keywords: Pyramids, Symbols like Mayans, Sun worship, Swamps, Blood Magic, Circular time

Something like this http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-image-mayan-incan-symbol-sun-star-image18353846 would be perfect to get that feeling of a slightly alien civilization.
