The music in Sins Rebellion is awesome

I would just like to say that the music in Rebellion is absolutely fantastic and I don't think people really appreciate the music enough so I'd just like to give out some of the appreciation previously mentioned,

Thank you for all the sweet music :)

(and I sometimes find myself humming it along the sidewalk on the way home) XP

The short teaser you mean? Its one of the Advent unique pieces, don't remember which subfaction.

The several minute trailer that is now the intro cinematic sounds like a mix of several of the new tracks.

Is there going to be any chance of getting a soundtrack like the first Sins?

Man I hope so.

Advent Loyalists - Fate of the Apostate

I'd have liked the piece from the old Entrenchment trailer myself, I always did like that.

I love "Defending the Colony". Music has always been great in Sins, and Rebellion is no exception

It's in your SINS folder, steam/steamapps/common/sins of a solar empire rebellion/sound

Sort by size, everything above 1mb is a song.

Excellent, thank you.

You can grab the music files out of the Sound directory.  The Rebellion Collector's Edition we're working on will also come with two music CDs.

Does Sins have a music!!!???

OMG i play it it for 3 years and never heard any.

Its very ql u spend your time on something that most people that play more then 100 game turn off after 50 and leave useless things like UI Multiplayer and clan support , and proper ranking system for players and clans alone. Who would use them anywhay.........

sarcasm off

Rebellion MP support was only an advertisement......:(

I have never turned off the music in any game I have ever owned; with one exception: to hear what's being said in vent while raiding.

so... any advice/hints about how to de-ogg them? wth is an ogg anyhow?!

Oh. My. God.

Yarlen, you listened to my post!

I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. Will this include the full soundtrack from Sins or just the additions from Rebellion? If it includes all of the soundtrack from the original game, the micro-expansions and Rebellion, the FULL thing, then I will be in musical heaven.

If two CDs cannot contain all of the music, I would put 3 or however many it takes to contain all of the music. The original soundtrack CD did not contain all of it and I was slightly saddened by this. Still, this makes me incredibly happy that there will be not only one but 2 soundtrack CDs.

Thank you, Yarlen and guys at Stardock for listening to your devoted fans. The collector's edition will be so great!

Ogg is actually a fairly well known file type. Its basically an open source version of MP3 (and some would say improved), which means it has fewer rights issues for games. I think you can listen to them natively with media players like Winamp, foobar 2000 and of course VLC. I use foobar 2000 to mass convert mp3s or waves to ogg, and you can certainly go the other way once you download the codecs.

hmm... I wish we could preorder the collector's edition right now.

Any way to make a particular track play more often?

My guess is to copy the track that you want to listen to, and rename it as already existing tracks. For example, you could take "Advent 1", copy it, and rename the copies as "Battle 1," "Battle 2," ect:. Though you lose less variety, you will get the song that you want.

Except that the music doesnt play at all most of the time. theres just a little bit here and there. I'd like to get it going non-stop.

I am sorry. I have absolutely no idea how to do that. My only guess is to modify the .exe to only start a new track of music once the one that it is currently playing is done.

1. The Developer.exe has a command that allows you to select which track to play. I think it plays to completion.

2. Make a folder or playlist with only the music, mute the music in game and have that playing in a background media player.

any info on the dev.exe? how to bring up the command console, what are valid commands?

I have been in there and couldn't figure it out, and so it was just the standard game

Control+shift+.(Period) brings up the menu. I didn't document it in that guide but go to the sound menu and it has a play track command, should be fairly straightforward.

I assume Paul Schuegraf is still making the music? My compliments to him! I have always loved the Sins music and feel it is pretty underrated (Also some some hardly if ever play in-game, do the "Upbeats" ever play because I love those ones)
