Woha, new internal build

Kael has nearly finished implementing the stat system for FE.

It's like that line from Star Wars "The last vestiges of the Old Republic have been swept away."

I think the Sith have a valid point about the Old Republic being too large and corrupt to govern and protect its own people. Darth Palpatine's plan would never have worked if the Republic was in the least bit capable of protecting Naboo. I wonder how long after the war did the New Republic fall back into the same routine?

What is stat system exactly?

edit: Stats = intelligence, dexterity, etc.? OK, I get it

~12 years. About how long it took for the New Republic to transition from aristocracy into a democracy.

This is good News!

Does Int affects more than just single target curse resistance and exp?

Are Int/Dex/Str closer to balanced?

Are Assasins closer to being playable?

These Issues really hold back beta 2

I realize you guys are curious, but if the plans leak then we could find a weakness and exploit it. You will have to wait until its fully operational...

The New Republic didn't last that long, if you've read the Star Wars books. After another universe-shattering war that killed off some main characters, the New Republic fell apart and gave rise to the Galactic Alliance. And now that's floundering too. About 100 years after Luke's death, the Sith take over again. History is cyclical. By the way, I really wish someone would make a new Star Wars trilogy that follows the Thrawn storyline in the early days of the New Republic. That would be awesome! Maybe CG characters to play Han, Luke, etc. since the real actors are too old now.

Star Wars died for me with the new films, but I have faith in FE anyways. I would rather play a session with the current FE beta build than watch another new yet unreleased Star Wars film.

Great news about a stats system (whatever that really means). Is that stats as in "Relias killed 3 ogres over the course of 4 weeks" or stats as in character attributes (Str, Int, etc.)?

Considering that we aren't getting a Beta this week, how about one post highlighting a new feature/change we can look forward to? Please? :'(

In one thread you tell us that WE will not have a new build this week and here you make a hooray for YOUR new build.  XO You are an evil, evil frog. ;P

Well as long as George Lucus does not write the story then we should be fine. The Star Wars books for the most part are pretty damn good. And the Clone Wars series is pretty good once you get past the wierd human/humanoid faces. The stories are pretty good and Anikin is not a big pussy in the series like he is in the movies. George is not writing for the series and you can tell.

Talking about Star Wars on a video game message board is like throwing chum in shark infested waters...nerd infested forums...

I'm looking forward to it.  I really hope that stats are meaningful and that my champion is more than his gear.

Its funny, the beta is being referenced by Star Wars, while final release, inevitably will reflect the grandeur of Star Trek.  ;)

And so it begins ...

Star Wars is to Star Trek as WWF is to UFC.

I do say that this seems eerily similar to France in WWII.   Crazy story if you look at what happened after beat them down.  Somehow a new French government took over and tore down the republic, replacing it with a Naziesque government.  In hopes of becoming Germany's "favorite province" after Englad was conquered by Germany, which they hoped would happen soon.  ...the hell?

Kael has nearly finished implementing the stat system for FE.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what this is telling me.

It means FE has nearly achieved self awareness and commenced its plan for eradicating all carbon based life forms.

But if George Lucas hadn't made the awful second trilogy, we would have never gotten that awesome South Park episode...

"Oh my God! Indy! Noooo!"

That poor Stormtrooper...

He should have filmed the Zahn books... sigh

Circles around for another mouthful of chummy goodness...    }---^-<

Yer gonna need a bigger Board!

See, Star Trek the Next Generation actually got better after the passing of Gene Roddenberry, rest his soul.  Maybe thats what Star Wars needed, George to die before he made the second trilogy.

Possibly.

Amen to that. Death to prequels. I don't care about what happened before Episode IV, but there is so much good stuff in the books that take place after Return of the Jedi. The future of Star Wars is ripe for movie adaptation. Let the past rest in peace.
