I think there are still many issues concerning the core mechanics of the game which need to be ironed out prior to "moving on" per se, so I'm not sure which category to select to show my preference.

We have random events? I've never seen one...

I think you'd just choose which core mechanic you want them to spend the most time on.

So far, most of the areas mentioned in the poll are getting better with each patch, which is great to see.

One area that hasn't gotten a lot of attention: making the cities individually interesting, and overall joined as a culture. Having a lot of cities spammed all across the map, with even more area taken up by outposts, feels like a weak area of the game.

As has been discussed elsewhere, individual cities should be given different options, to get more "personality" overall. Beyond that, the expanding territory/culture of each faction would be more interesting if factions were encouraged to keep their cities connected to each other, through various bonuses.

The part of the game involving running around on the map is great, and improves with each patch; the cities still feel rather lackluster.

Voted Stability because it is a big issue in 0.86 for me but if I had a chance I would vote for ''better city managemant". Right now it's not fun enough.

Why is city building not on the poll????

Second this.

I'd vote city management. But I don't have any specific ideas on what to do that wouldn't make the game bog down or change the entire game.

I was gonna vote then I remembered I hadn't put more than 15 mins into beta 2 yet. Also the choices are general enough that even If I think X needs Y there is no telling if you think X needs Y and that by voting for Y you will work on adding X to y.  :digichet:

Voted Faction differentiation, but would have voted better city building.  As I type this I see I'm in the majority so far.

When I voted, 68% of you guys voted Faction Differentiation. I can make my own faction improvements. I voted AI because it still needs alot of work. I would like everyone on the team that can to spend the next month perfecting it before you start adding content that the users can make themselves.

I know that my ability to mod makes me different than most users, but that is how I see it.

Exactly.  If one of the options was "Balance of Game Mechanics" I would probably choose that.

Voted faction differentiation. That, IMO, is paramount right now. Close second would be better AI.

Not voting yet. Quests, city management, tactical battles, and random events all need love. Faction differentiation does too but could come with some of those other things. I have a major issue that could be stability or performance depending on how you look at it. There's too many things that need a vote for me to cast a single one now.

I voted computer AI as the highest priority.

Other things are important too. However, if the AI plays poorly then why play the game at all? Its not multi-player, I'm playing against the AI. No challenge to it, no fun. Having to give the AI multiple unfair advantages to make it competitive, doesn't do the job for me.

Civ 5 has disappointingly weak AI. I'm still bitter.

They will divide N by number of votes for M to help decide where to allocate time. Not voting is a bad strategy. Vote for AI.

Using notepad isn't THAT hard is it?

I think its more the WILLINGNESS to mod that makes us different.. not the ability..

Some of it is easy and some of it is hard. The difference is I know what almost every function does in the xml. And don't use notepad to mod.  :borg:

No but XML causes head pain in mere mortals...

Don't care.  If my choice is not represented I will not vote, and I will let it be known what my choice is.

I'd like to vote for performance, but given how I'm still running XP Pro and a dual core CPU @ 3 ghz, I know that building a new comp should greatly improve the performance.

So with that, faction differentiation definitely gets my vote, followed swiftly by AI (strategic and tactical) and finally tactical battles.

Point remains.. XML is easy enough for just about anyone to mod. Most just aren't willing to take the time to poke around and figure stuff out ^_^

I voted Stability. Pretty much everything else can follow after that. And everything on the list of options should get love and attention. But first the game needs to work flawlessly (or a reasonable facsimile to that).

Looks like they added City Management as an option after the poll started :-/
