First of all, I applaud Stardock for creating another installment of this game. It is one of the best election simulation games out there and I am looking forward to what Political Machine 2012 has in store. I am hoping for some new features and additions that will make the game play even more enjoyable.
There are a few new features that I would like to see (although I dont think it will make much difference now)
-First, I think it would be cool to add some third party candidates. It would shake up the game play and make everything more interesting. Of course, historically, no third party candidate did not win the presidency, neither has any threatened to win, but they presented some umique challenges to candidates of major parties. Some good third party (or independent candidates) would be.... Ross Perot, John Anderson, etc.
Along with that, it would be cool if created candidates can have more party options, like Libertarian, Green, Constitution, Reform, or Independent. It would just be cool.
- I really enjoyed the scenarios from the 2008 game. The one from the alien planet was fun. More scenarios equals more fun. I expecially like the 1860 scenario, very fun. Some scenarios I would like to see would be.....
1824- Four way race between Henry Clay, Andrew Jackson, JQ Adams, and William Crawford. Dont know how to do that one, but it would be a fun one.
1844- Clay vs Polk (just a personal favorite)
1860- Dont leave out a good one just becuase it was in the last one. Would suggest some historical candidates ready for this one, like Stephen Douglas, John C. Breckinridge, and John Bell. Perhaps making them unlockable when you beat the scenario??? (which could work for other scenarios too)
1896- Bryan v McKinley
1912- Roosevelt v Taft v Wilson
1960- Nixon v Kennedy
2000- Bush v Gore
Maybe it can work that new scenarios can be downloadable from the web or that there is a scenario creator.
- I miss the longer campaign scenario from the first game. It was sad not unlocking some of my fav candidates like FDR (which I didnt understand why he wasnt in the ladder). My choice for ladders.
