Less than 10 days to go…

Less than 10 days to go…

T_Thunderstrike_PaintingIn 10 days, we’re going to start activating Elemental: Fallen Enchantress on tens of thousands of user accounts. It’ll be, by far, the largest “beta” release we’ve ever done.

We’re going to be rolling the dice a little here. There’s no NDA. Players are free to praise or pan what they get.

In the past year, we’ve greatly expanded our development team, brought in industry veterans and with the sale of Impulse, our top game developers have returned to the game unit to work on Fallen Enchantress.

We’re both excited and nervous for how people will react to Fallen Enchantress.  It has been our collective “baby” for the past year. More so than anything we’ve worked on before.

I won’t go into too much detail on how many long hours Derek and I have brain stormed different quests, different types of loot, interesting spells, and how to make the AI play differently from one another in a way that’s obvious to players.   It’s been a very enjoyable experience having this kind of time to do this kind of thing. And we’re not done.

Owners of Elemental: War of Magic (WOM) will be getting an email next week going through what Fallen Enchantress is and how they can download it.

The beta release will go in two phases. January 19 will be to everyone who pre-ordered WOM. A week later will be everyone else who got WOM in 2010.

Stay tuned!

And to keep expectations safe: Assume the game is so horrible it'll give you a terrible disease.

This is the most I've ever wanted a terrible disease.

*Casts Spell - Fallen Enchantitis*

Target suffers an increasing decrease in Stamina, Health, and Strength in direct relation to distance from the computer keyboard.  If the target reaches the front door, death is certain.

But then it's my exam week. :(

Excellent news. I'm burning with anticipation... although that could be the cancer/plague starting early. Now all I need to do is come up with an excuse as to why my work is late... plague would be a good one.

Well, as an early pre-order person, I guess I'll be keeping an eye on the inbox come the latter part of next week.

Here's hoping this works out well for everybody!

Nooooo!  It's too soon.  Take your time.  Give Jon and Derek three more months.  There's no rush.

We promise to be gentle with your baby.  }:)

...this is not the first time you've released something when I go back to school.

Well, good-bye long nights of sleep, hello Fallen Enchantress!

I beg you to consider this (we would prolly have seiges & sea warfare/monsters/quests & dynasties: one for each month?)

Bring on the cancer! Hurts so good!

Can't wait to get it in my hands to try it out :-) I believe I preordered WOM... so yeah I hope FE is the game I was hoping WOM would be.

Wonder how it runs on my laptop... just internal itnel graphics but those have gotten a lot better (it's 2nd generation core-i 5) and I got 64 bit and 8gigs of RAM :-D

edit: How much time have you planned for incorporating feedback/fixing bugs? I found that there was much much much too less time allocated for this on WOM.

Cool! ... But I have so much things to do!

I received my eclipse board game and everybody wants to play.

My girlfriend want me to try skyrim

I get tons of idea for board games variants/expansion ideas or simply new game ideas.

I still got a huge list of video games to finish, play or replay.

I'll see what I can do

I have had strep throat for 3 months. Can't wait to see what I'll out of FE!  + :w00t:

Was there actually a way to preorder WoM instead of prepurchase it? If so you should let those of us who prepurchased in an extra week early (tomorrow). :pout:

Sanati,

I think in this case preorder= prepurchase.   I don't think there was any way to get the WoM beta without paying for the full game.

But, I do agree that we should get the beta a week early. :)

I'm going to be playing E:WOM 1.4 with Heavenfall's After the War, Expanded Factions, and Artifacts mod until I get my grubby paws on this E:FE beta!

any chance to get beta for FE if I buy WOM now?

I think WoM is the only game I ever pre-ordered. Gaining access to the alpha/beta was the primary motivator, but still. I hope you guys have finally cracked it and made the game the way it was intended to be.

I metaphysically pre-ordered the game years before it had a street name. Whatever disease I got from WoM seems to have had some partial amnesia as a symptom.

Hopefully, I'll have time to try the mass beta before the new folks (yes, that's folks like you Xia) get there hands on it. I'd try cajoling for a fortnight or month for us old guard folks, but I'm more interested in seeing the Stardock game shop gain enough customers to keep on ticking.

From the pictures and vidieo's they have shared it looks great.    I can't wait to try the beta.

I used to play Elemental... But then I took an arrow to the knee. I get the feeling if I play this game I will take an arrow somewhere else... :X

All joking aside I also agree with the "no need to rush" take your time, and delay when necessary.

I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about it. I'm sure that it will surpass expectations... :)
