Who is running 64-bit Windows right now?

Who is running 64-bit Windows right now?

Just curious about active forum goers.

Are you running 64-bit Windows right now? If so, do you use your system for gaming?

Would you be more likely to buy a game that is 64-bit aware?

When Bethesda Softworks released the requirements for Skyrim, I realized that I would need a new system. After considerable research I purchased an MSi GT780DXR laptop with an Intel i7-2630QM, NVIDIA GTX570M, 16GB RAM, 1.5TB of Raid-0 HDD and a R/W Blu-Ray disk with Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) SP1.

I would love to see 64 bit versions of games such as Skyrim, but game software companies will understandably want to maximize their profits. As such they will target the greatest source of sales which is unfortunately the archaic XBox360 and PS3 game platforms while cutting edge PC hardware capabilities are under utilized.

I'm not sure what all the benefits would be, but I have an AMD Quad Core with 4GB RAM so if that means maximizing my gameplay....absolutely.

If FSX was aware I'd devote the whole of my 12 gig of ram to see it almost run well....;p

Have been running 64 Bit since RC 1 of W7 came out. Currently running W7 Pro 64 bit on primary machine and same on my laptop, older machine has Vista 32 bit on it.

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. Meh. If it's a game I'd want to play I'm not bothered if it's 32 or 64 bit.

My step-son is running 64-bit Windows 7.

He has WOW, DC Online, and Star Trek Online.

I have Stardock stuff on there but he could care less. sigh.

He's all about the 64-bit for gaming. His last PC was 32 and the improvement with the 64 is good.

Yes, yes and yes.

I would like to see what can be done with these new 64 bit systems that couldn't be done before.

Win 7 64-bit x2

Vista 64-bit  x1

Occasional gaming but not fanatical about it

Yes, dedicated 64 bit games would be interesting

Win7 64-bit x4 (3.3ghz and have tested up to 5.2ghz stable)

I use this rig for work and serious gaming. I've got a GTX 560 Ti and am running Skyrim and BF3 on highest settings in game.

64-Bit aware is a HUGE consideration for me as it allows for more complicated AI in the game as well as additional RAM utilization.

So ... Yes, Yes, & Yes!

I'll have to step aside and let the hubby answer this one.

Yes, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I do game, but not often enough to be considered a serious computer gamer. Consoles are another matter.

And most 32-bit games run just fine on my setup so that's not a huge issue.

Yes, W7 64E, 12gig, Yes I would love a game made by Stardock that's 64 bit enabled.

There is computing other than 64bit?!?!!
But seriously, Yes, yes and yes!

I would have loved to have seen what we could have done with GC2 in 64bit!!

Not yet, but plan to upgrade in the next 6 months, sooner if FE seems slow on my current rig.  (waiting for Ivy Bridge, full range of AMD 7000-series gpus, and for HP prices to go back to normal).

Absolutely more likely to buy a game if it is 64-bit capable.

No 64bit.

Not much in gaming.

(Just didn't want it to seem like everybody's on 64bit)

I have two computers and one is 64 bit.  I would update the other.

I've got 32-bit, but I would definitely update it to 64-bit if FE with huge maps etc. or another good game with the benefits of 64-bit was released.  Definitely if you made a great Elemental game with support for huge maps and other cool 64-bit enabled stuff I would jump on board in an instant. =)
