Madness hit my little country

"Among the passers-by killed when Amrani went on his shooting spree near the city's courthouse was a 15-year-old boy who died instantly and a 17-year-old boy and 75-year-old woman who died later in hospital. A 17-month-old baby also died overnight. A justice official said 123 had been wounded."

It is truly sad that these things happen more often when we suffer common hardships. Let's just hope the European crisis and the protective parties cool off as soon as possible. But remember that you don't need to be afraid of these things, the odds for this to happen to you if you live in western Europe is practically zero.

The problem is that these things, bad though they are, are too often used for pushing political agendas.

Yes...like how many kids need to be run over before a council installs pedestrian lights.

Sometimes you'd like to see agendas pre-empt the deaths.

I don't know you personally, and given the size of Terra (Sol 3) and the c7billion of us living and/or existing in that shallow zone we call the biosphere, it is unlikely that we will ever meet in person.  However, we are of the same blood, the same web of feelings, desires, needs, and hopes.  Loss to any of one (or four) of us diminishes us all.  I am heartly sorry for the suffering and loss these deaths entail.  I offer my kindest hopes that we, all of us, one day, learn how to live together without diminishing the lives of others.  May those left from this sad turn find comfort in the people around them - their neighbors.

Sadly you're just catching up with the rest of this crazy world we live in.

But even with all the crazy things that happen, let's not forget all the great things that happen or that we can help make happen too.
