http://maxstyles.com/news.php

How's it workin for ya 3 years later?

Anyone better off?... that's a good one !

here's the good news.. Nov. 2012 isn't so far off... and I for one will look back on the 4 lost years of my life, and realize..

  ....I can finally breath again.

So... lastly, I am willing to go out on a limb, and a year ahead, predict.. :| , no, guarantee... a massive conservative victory...

......If I'm wrong... I'm sure a few of you will be back to remind me I posted this. ;)

The Free Market will reign again.

Hope and change.. is.. coming. :sun:

Indeed, for so many reasons, we have no one and everyone (especially ourselves) to blame. Houses, hard drives, whatever we consistently, persistently and constantly look for the "bargain". Costs far more than it ever saved.

Exactly, America bargain shopped itself right out of work, and in to our current state of economy.

one might also consider that the lose of job/income has driven people to purchase cheaper products in order to make ends meet.

Definitely, It is a vicious circle I have seen coming since the 80's when I watched America first fall in love with Cheap imports. I knew that with the mass amount of cash flowing out of America compared to the pittance coming back in from exports we were headed down a slippery slope.

Economics 101, if your cash out flow is larger than your intake, soon you will be bankrupt.. As it would seem, America is right were I figured it would be,,.

IMO To save the economy we either need to restrict imports by either re-adding them to the tariff list or by raising tariffs, "Presently only about 30% of all import goods are subject to tariffs in the United States, the rest are on the free list, and The "average" tariffs now charged by the United States are at a historic low."

Or by aggressively Exporting our goods.  Most likely a combination of both is needed.

The guy in Georgia is on the right track. America needs to follow this guys example and instead of waiting/bitching for someone else to fix our economy, We all need to roll up our sleeves and dig our own way out.

you should damn well respect his intelligence and position in life, and not make him out to be an idiot.

You think you're somehow 'better' or smarter than he is? Show me the proof.

Doc, there is absolutely nothing that I respect about this man, nor any person that lies or pretends to be something they are not. Most all politicians are like that and he is no exception to that observation.

Nobody said a damn thing about thinking they are "better" than someone but you seem to want to turn this in to a personal attack on me for stating my opinion.

Have your fun, I really couldn't care less.

The loss of respect for this country around this world, is at an all time low.

along with just about everything else, being at an all time low.

For goodness sake, it's time to start turning things around.

Phoon, are you saying that he is only pretending to be the President? C'mon, he deserves some respect for taking on probably the most difficult job there is. I couldn't do it, do you think you could?

No, I wouldn't want the job at all. I am saying that he is not what quite a large number of people seem to think he is.

For instance:

Jerimiah Wright. You don't go to a church for 20+ years and all of the sudden deny having heard anything like what Mr Wright spouts. He heard, and continued to go to Mr Wright's rants. The only reason he separated himself from him is because it became public. It tells alot about his character.

I also happen to know someone that worked at a university in Chicago for many years and has the displeasure of meeting the Mrs O on a few occasions. I have been told that Mrs O is also quite the opposite of her now "First Lady" image that she portrays and is in fact one of the most racist individuals you would ever meet. I trust the source I heard this from explicitly and have no reason at all to doubt the validity of the statement.

IMO, he deserves nothing as he has given us nothing more than a false image.

Couldn't agree more. I feel as though the entire presidency has been one big lie from the get go.

I want him, and the rest of the Chicago strong arm mob.. gone... asap.

I'm sure you could do it better, Phoon.

You might not agree with his actions (despite not being fully informed) nor like him personally (though I doubt you've met him or talked with him), but you should not disrespect him based on biased media crap. In fact, you doubt the media with respect to everything else, so how come not with respect to the crap they put out to sell tv time when it comes to him and his wife?

I don't maintain he's perfect. But I don't drink that Kool Aid, either.

What "Lies from the beginning", John?

Biased how? I find it amazing that solid facts, PLAIN VIEW stuff, is somehow the story telling of a biased media..

If you want to talk about biased media.. try NBC, MSNBC, Hardball, Huffington Post, etc etc... all in the tank, since day one.

Fox, is THE most trusted and respected, and honest media outlet.. period.. dont make me break out some stats. :sun:

well, for one the BS about 'coming together' as a nation... Obama is the most divisive president in history.. IMO, IMO... Hope and change, 'coming together' was nothing but a temporary mantra, to get elected.. then, day one, He started in with socialist agenda, the redistribution of wealth.. agenda... the divisiveness.

Where the hell is the hope now? Where is the (positive) change?

In my OP, i asked for Hope stories, success stories, I asked who is better off... I don't see people lining up in droves to tell their stories, of Obama success.

That's exactly correct.

You cannot find truth/unbiased reporting anywhere.

People just believe what they wish or find most consistent with their own "informed" views.

you are saying that tongue is cheek I hope. because that is an outright dis-truth. FOX is a Murdoch outlet and is well known for their right leaning philosophy and will attack the other side every change that they get. They are hypocrites, they praised Bush for some thing and turn around and attack Obama for the same thing.

They don't report the news, they make it up as they go along. Turn it off John, just for a week, it'll make a difference.

I think he's tried, unfortunately the other side has not.

Do not pursue this line.

It is uncalled for.

Please edit it ASAP.

It is against the TOS Guidelines.

This is why I hate politics or one of the reasons any way. Not only is it a waste of time debating the issues to death but it also sets friends against friends. Not everyone believes the same way about everything but it is often a good idea to respect those beliefs whether you agree with them or not. Time to put politics where it belongs, in the shit can, and get up off all our collective asses and do what needs to be done. People people....all of the Joe Shmoes from one end of the Earth to the other. Every single one getting up and screaming at the top of their lungs...Enough is enough! Starkers got it right...shoot all the politicos and lets start off fresh without all the money hungry, power mad assholes, they know who they are, trying to tell us what is and isn't right for us.

Pretty wishful thinking...huh?

I firmly believe that government must respect those it is elected to serve, and act on their behalf.

Shooting anyone solves nothing. That is violence and it breeds only more violence. It is an act in extremis only when one's life is directly threatened and no alternative (like running away and seeking Police help) is available.

Ya know, I hoped I'd get change last time I went grocery shopping.... it wasn't forthcoming.

So next time I'm gonna change my hops... and pray that somebody other than Manly win the NRL grand final next year.

Then again, I could always hope for a local banker throwing competition...  and hope to win at least one thing before I go to that Banker Haters Association in the sky.

I too believe that Doc but the evidence proves otherwise. Sorry, I don't mean to cause contention and shooting them is a figure of speech. It just means we need to be rid of them is all. I know...lets gather up all the people living at or below poverty level and let them have their say. Oh wait...they do. Its called voting. Only problem is...their voice is almost never heard. Witness the state of programs created to help them. Most if not all are facing the axe in one form or another. This country used to excel at certain things like education and science among others. I wonder what happened. Rant over.

Unfortunately Doc the only ones corrupt in the process are not the Politicians, the people who vote for a particular person seem to feel they have a right to receive favorable treatment or favors because their person got elected.  Wonder what entities like 'Unions' expect from giving their support to a candidate?  This 'beast' has more than one head and unless you sever all of them you don't change a thing.

Personally I took the comment about 'shooting' to mean vote them out of office.  We do show our anger here but I don't believe anyone meant it literally.
