New Disk with Rebellion?

New Disk with Rebellion?

Hey guys,

I'm going to buy sins soon, and I was looking at getting Trinity with the 2 expansions but then I saw Rebellion was out soon, and I'd prefer to own it on disk also so I can have it for years to come like other pc games I still play from time to time. So will a disk be released with all the expansions in the future like Trinity or would it be to long?

Game looks excellent, got homeworld and freelancer already, got to add to the collection :P

Yeah, that'll go great along side of my other sticker that says: "Porn! It's cheaper then dating."

For $100 I'd like to see in the CE:

1. A few decals for computer/whatever

2. Figurine of some ship (the vasari one sucking a planet dry would be cool) or starbase

3. Another figurine or two of the titains? Using super weapon to blow something up? :)

4. Poster

5. Cool box with modified cd box cover artwork

6. Whatever else you usually include in a Collectors Edition box. (certificate, etc.)

Speaking of posters, I remember when I bough Civ 2 that there was a nice sized poster that had the entire tech tree and stats of common units.  I could get behind such a poster for sins.

Hmmm ... that's a good question. For $100, assuming $50+$5 for the game box and shipping which leaves $45 left over ...

1) 3 smaller figurines (pewter, doesn't have to be painted) of either ships or individuals of the races.

2) 11"x17" Poster depicting Sins: Rebellion logo plus awesome battle scene that could be signed by the dev team / StarDock support team?

3) A numbered certificate that states what production number your boxed copy of the Collectors Edition is. It does NOT need to have a xxxx out of xxxx stamp, just a 'This is Collectors Edition Box xxxx'.

How's that sound for $100? I would like to see something along those lines for $100.

Can we throw in a Mousepad similar to the poster? And I'm leaning towards ships instead of individuals for the figurines (Maybe the Kol, Radiance and Kortul?)

The mousepad and one of those the capital ships would be sweet, add the soundtrack and an artbook with more info about the races and you have a great CE

Either way, as long as you deliver a great game as you previously did, just

If you bought a hard copy of vanilla sins and entrenchment, you would have a map. Of the tech tree. And a cd with music on it. It's still a good idea though.

Is this ever going to take off?

Can we upgrade our pre-order to get a hard copy?

Entrenchment was never a hard copy.  It was digital download only, same as diplomacy.  I bought a hard copy of Vanilla Sins when it came out, the normal copy, not the collector's Edition or the GOTY edition, I didn't get a tech tree map with it, nor a CD with music.  So you can't claim that if you bought a hard copy you would have got one, because a lot of people didn't get one.  ;)

If they did it before with the collector's edition, they'll probably do it again.

Yarlen stated back in October that a hard copy was to be made available and the option for pre order people to upgrade would be given.

Yup, when we're closer to release they'll be an upgrade option to move to a boxed version.

I got the collector's Edition. It had a map. I should have been more specific. Or more correct that is. :P

I just can't wait.

Odds are that if we offer a retail version we'll allow folks to upgrade to the retail box direct like we usually do for a small fee.

This would be awesome as I would love to have the boxed set of this.

a mouse pad with the new titan class ships gets my vote, and if you can fit only one titan class on the pad put the other two on an 11x17 poster, double sided so one ship per side, unless you gonna show an epic battle, that'd be cool too.

download code for app or wallpaper for cell phones, include all ships.  possibly an animated wallpaper of a fire fight :)

How about some sort of a voucher to allow you to order a free SOSE T-shirt?

I was wondering. Is the Sins team still leaning towards both a digital and retail release?

Digital yes, retail is 'likely' though there hasn't been an official word other than 'they would really like to if the economics work out'.
