Still Disappointed

Still Disappointed

So I bought this game over six months ago and it is still pretty much crap, I came here to check up on the development recently of the expansion and it is now set to Fall. When I came here originally it was April, and now Fall? What is going on with this? I will tell you, you should wait to release a complete version of the game instead of a beta. Its bad business.

Any answers?

Come on, how many company give free game, let one two, though only for those who buy early, not late? Most company would not gave free game and do not care people yelling at them, company will think them as not exit as long profit keep rolling, if not, they find some way to make profit to keep roll and dump, gave up on game don't sell well, they only keep game fixing as long there is profit, unless I'm wrong, but don't worry not all company like that. I don't know why people not happy even let's them know they getting free game, I don't get a free game, because I do buy game late, but this I do not know till 2 week ago or so.

Forget the good game stuff. At this point I just want some decent modding tools to make a good game  .

Eh, didn't care enough to this one to respond to OP.

People really throw out that fanboy bullshit around a lot.  Read most of my post and you will see that the majority of them are bitching about some half-assed part of this game.  Yet, just because I think this game was very bad when released and still has a lot of fuck ups in it, doesn't mean I am not able to recognize that Brad has gone beyond the call of duty to make up for it.  Hiring well known industry people to make two new Elemental games and work on WoM.  So I get improved WoM, and 2 free games.  That seems like a pretty good deal.  Yes, I would have liked WoM to have been a better game, yes I think it still has a lot of flaws.  But just because I don't think that Brad is the Anti-Christ because he hasn't made WoM the perfect game and the "expansions" are going to be stand-alone doesn't make me a fanboy.  Grow up, only children and people with personality disorders see the world as black and white, with us or against us.

I am kinda in your vein of thinking Xia but its 2 controversial figures and then he goes and sells a part of his business to highly loathed retail store in the PC community. And I'll add one more word, Demigod.

All I am saying is that alot, ALOT, a whole fricking mess of alot for everyone involved is riding on FE. Pretty much everyone's reputation is 75% on the hook and Brad's is 100%. It better reach a Blizzard level of quality and entertainment. He messes this up and alot of people including myself are done with anything he ever puts his hands on. He did a damn good job building an enormous amount of trust with me and alot of other PC gamers and somehow in the past year he managed to almost completly destroy it.

Everyone makes mistakes, not everyone is man enough to admit it and then do all they can to rectify it.  Brad has done that.  This experience has doen the oposite to me, I now trust Brad and Stardock more.

There are many good things being done for FE, even if the new pipline also requires a bit less back and forth during early development.

Not to put words in your mouth, but is there an implication that, later on in FE's development, there will be more 'back-and-forth' than there is currently? I'm just curious if FE will ever have WoM's level of community involvement - insights into the development process, beta testing the game before it's actually ready for release, asking the forums for feedback, etc. - and if FE's development is going to be different, what will it be like? More like a typical game, small amounts of leaked info leading up to a complete and polished 'beta'/demo just before release (hopefully not), or something in between?

Boogie steps over the lock and says: Yeah, the back-and-forth WILL happen, but it'll be after most of our/Brads/Dereks/Jon/Toby's design vision is in place. During WoM there was early back and forth with the details of the vision itself, and that just turned into a mess, mostly with Elemental being new IP  :(

What we'll want is to polish the vision with feedback, not scuplt the vision with it. And remember, when it somes to player and community input, we received TONS of critical feedback from WoM's launch, all of which was used to establish our FE goals.

Hope this helps :)
