Will Stardock get the 1.9 gig update bug fixed?

hey guys, are you working on a fix for the having to downgrade to the non-beta then back up to the current beta version to avoid a 1.9 gig update?

Also, I always try and post saved games, error logs, custom sov. files, crashes, screen shots etc but I feel like I'm being ignored when I post bugs, nothing is ever done about them.

trcanberra,

Just to clarify...

Before you did the 'Detect application...' bit, did Impulse show 'Available' or 'Update available'?

Before I did the 'Detect application' it had the exclamation mark and 'update available'.  I started the update, it started downloading 1.9 gig, I cancelled out and followed the steps in the post above and all seems OK now.  Roll on the next Elemental patch and we shall see what transpires O:)

Vallu751,

Impulse wasn't showing Elemental as installed for you?  Did you install Elemental through Impulse or from the dvd?

It was showing it as installed and in the current version. I've been using Impulse since the first Gal Civ version and from my experience everything looked exactly as it should, except for the download size. In the bottom of the screen it showed something like "Version: Version 1.10(1.11 update available).

I have installed digitally. In case it makes a difference, I haven't actually played the game since September, I just like to keep all my games updated so I don't have to start downloading when I feel the urge to play.

Updating Impulse has not helped with the issue. I have the downloadable version - not from disk.  Win 7 64 bit.

Chaostis solution worked fine for me.

1.  Use the "detect application" (in the menu button to the left of explore).

2.  In the dropdown boxes: Product Category -> My Games.  Product -> Elemental: War of Magic.  Click Import.

3.  Right click elemental, update it.  It will turn into a 9.08MB or so patch because the game will be detected as version 0.00 instead of 1.10.  Once its downloaded, you will be updated.

Thank you, Chaosti
