The REAL Chatroom

The REAL Chatroom

Or alternative Chatroom

Ok, so I decided to create a new Chatroom, because the old one was getting pretty....old!  ;P

Everyone may post here, as well as in the good'ol Flameroom...I mean, Chatroom *_*

I would like to keep this Chatroom civilized. Well, as civilized as most forum threads are (doesnt mean that you all have to be polite like Oatesy, lol).

So for this reason, I may update the OP of this thread in the future, posting certain thread rules, as I see fit.

For now though, post away, and everyone is welcome! :)

I think better computers are the ones like HAL. They aren't sentient, you can't reason with them, and everything that they are doing is perfectly logical to them (not that they've thought about it).
End of Oatesy03's quote

Ah, while that is the case, a truely sentient machine might be able to be reasoned with, but, unlike cliche scifi depictions of them being defeatable by using a paradox, they can basically determine "it's a paradox dumbass", and then melt your face off with their superior machine-tech*.

*Face-melting is optional.

Quoting Whiskey144, reply 373
Ah. A paradox.

Lovely.

Except that such things are the standard way to defeat a computer that has attained sentience. At least in Star Trek.

I think I'll write something where a sentience robot is interpreted as 'going rogue', and they try to defeat it by using a paradoxical statement.

It then laughs and says that that's the stupidest thing that it's ever heard. If something even more stupid occurs right afterwards, it will then change it's mind.

It's a sentient robot. It isn't locked into believing something is the way it is permanently.

Really? >_> Make me say that I'm gay?

I remember making that stuff up when I was like, oh I dont know, 9 years old. When I was a kid, me and my friends played a little game. 1 person would ask obvious questions, that they all have "yes" as an answer, and the other person would have to answer each question really really fast. So its like: Is the sky blue? Yes. Do you have 10 fingers? Yes. Do you have a dog? Yes. Are frogs green? Yes. Are you gay? Yes.

So so, immature.

Yes, I choose to take you seriously most of the time, because its a lot more fun to me :P

Snipe makes a funny comment, half sarcastic/joke and sometimes half serious, and I take it very seriously, making for a nice contradiction.

You know, like seeing a funny clown performing a show to entertain the kids, and someone walks over to him, saying "Dude, why the hell are you dressed like that? Punk!"

You havent figured that out yet? ;P

Because that simply cannot be true, when Man was created to have only heterosexual relationships.

Why is man capitalized in your statement? Let's not... well, screw it. Don't tell me you're a religious activist and you're going to start giving me lectures about what "Man" is and is not supposed to be based on what "God" thinks?

Homosexuality is, in fact, a natural disorder of the brain, proven so by the number of abnormalities found in the lobes of lesbians and gays, and that their pheromone receptors are only receptive to pheromones given off by the same sex.  Homosexuality is also found in nature. I site the homosexual penguins of the New York City zoo, who raised a penguin chick, for my reference there. (There's also a theory that the Dinosaurs started to go extinct prior to the asteriod hit and indian mantle plume due to extremely high rates of homosexuality decreasing the population, but due to lack of evidence I'm rather skeptical.)

If you're challenging my Sexual Plasticity claim, it doesn't mean that 1/3 of girls are closet lesbians or bisexuals, it means that, on average, 1/3 girls is going to feel romantically attached or attracted to other girls.

Let the flame war begin.

I like how "there's nothing wrong with being gay," yet nobody wants to be thought of as it. I mean, if somebody thought I was stupid, I wouldn't mind. However, if someone thought I was gay, I would inform that I wasn't. You do notice that there are many misconceptions about people which they are happy about, but usually being homosexual isn't one of them.

Religious activist, no. Vocal about my beliefs, yes. I also have been writing a Warhammer 40,000/Star Trek crossover fanfic, and whenever an Imperial character speaks about that I capitalize the word, so the habit has probably bled over a bit.

Onto the rest:

I'm saying that, as my beliefs dictate, Man was created by God as 'male and female'. There's a reason God made 'Adam and Eve', and not 'Adam and Steve' (or 'lesbian' variations).

The pieces of the puzzle that is the human body simply don't fit together that way. Think of it as a belt buckle; it only works one way. Sexual relations between people are the same way; it only really works one way, since the ultimate goal of a sexual relationship is supposed to be the production of viable offspring.

Yes, we as a species, are meant to have heterosexual relationships, primarily for reproduction, in order to avoid extinction. But that doesnt mean that we cant change along the way. Just as we are constantly evolving, supposedly becoming more intelligent, civilized, and more creative, we are also getting bad "habbits" so to speak. Thus homosexuality exists in the human species, which I believe is not only society driven, but also DNA related.

Technically, as a species, we dont need to reproduce at a faster rate. Our population is already growing, at a steady rate, and has been, for a long period of time.

So, technically speaking again, we can afford to have a small percentage of our population to not reproduce, aka be homosexuals.

Hehe, its kinda funny, cause you remind me of a male friend of mine, who's straight, and for some weird reason, he always gets hit on by gay men, even he hangs out with me and his other friends, for some reason homos are always hitting on him.

Needless to say, that he freaks out on the slightest gay joke, or prank, for that matter, like when me and my friend Kostas, thought of a nice prank:

We both pretended to be gay, and that we were hitting on him at the same time. When my friend Kostas touched his leg, he jump up, and tried to run away, freaking out big time!

Whiskey:

Ah, I love the Adam and Eve critique. In theory, "God" actually failed on this one, Adam had two wives.

Adam and Lilith, then Adam and Eve. Lilith was the first true female, created in "God's" image as Adam was. But when she and Adam fought (over who was to be on top during sex, no lie  ) Lilith left the garden of Eden, and "God" created Eve from Adam's rib, to make her more submissive to man.  Therefore, heterosexuality has been shown in the bible to fail as well. :P

6. a. Growing at a steady rate. I roflmao'd when I read this, our population has gone from less than 1 million 10k years ago to 7 billion mid to late this year. Most of the jump has been made since the 15-1700's. That, and given we've almost reached our carrying capacity as a planet, our population growth rate is SLOWING DOWN, as shown from low fertility rates worldwide (probably from genetic inbreeding, as all of us stem from about 30-300 females who survived the Toba eruption, aka, the Human Genetic Bottleneck).

   b. An even larger percentage of the population is sterile or genetically mutated as to be inable to have kids than the homosexual popluation.

7. Ah, homophobia. The typical symptom of a male who's closet bi-curious, but is ashamed or confused by his feelings so acts the opposite way to hide it until he either repels the bi-curiosity or understands and refuses it.

Thats true. But we dont really need to have sexual intercourse with other humans to survive. Technically, all we need is a minimum reproduction, and we can even achieve that without any sexual intercourse.

But yes, we mostly have sex for pleasure, not to reproduce, thats correct.

7. Nah, I dont think my friend is bi or gay, for that matter. He really did have a lot of homos hitting on him, even in my presence. I dunno, he must have something gay, appearance-like or he's just damn unlucky.

Anyway, given that he sleeps with a different girl each week, and he only cares about having sex with girls, I would be very surprised if I found out he's bi. So I am not sure. But he's certainly not gay, otherwise I wouldnt have caught that black girl half-naked in his kitchen, when he invited me over at his place, one time.
