Also, Australia has assault charges.. and they don't make a distinction between assault and battery like the U.S. does (aka Australia is legally more strict than the U.S. on the issue).  Please try to hit an Australian police officer and tell me how it went.

Yeah, as for what you know about the law in Australia, we ll put that down to what you read somewhere.  Truth of the matter is, if you get into a fight in a public place where you are bothering other people of course they are going to do something...Otherwise you will get into no trouble at all, there are some exceptions.  I ve been in hundreds of fights, the only one where the police did something, was when I got stabbed.  That guy went yo jail for 5 years.  Then got his face broken by me when he got out....and um, assault and assault with a deadly weapon (probably throw attempted murder into it, if its done with a gun)  I am sure it is the same charge, lol where do you come up with this stuff RAWWWWWRRRR?

And FYI, I have hit and a cop, and undercover one, that was hassling my friends during a high school grad after party.  I took the cop to court, got apologized to and was given compo money.  As for Australia being more strict, no, we just aren't as stupid as others...Battery and assault its the same thing.  Even your own government has confused themselves about it, hence the fact that all your states argue about it...and the law is different all over the place. lololol

Assault and assault with a deadly weapon are different charges.  Common assault (in Australia) is the attempted, threatened, or physical act of blah blah blah hitting someone.  It's punishable by up to 3 years.  Assault causing bodily harm is punishable by up to 7.. if that's done with a real or pretended weapon as well that bumps it up to 10.  There's a wee bit more to it but that's the gist.  Sup I studied a bit of law.

Truth of the matter is.. wtf are you talking about? lol.  You're arguing that people don't go to jail for fighting in Australia (your words not me putting words in your mouth) and then saying that people do go to jail for fighting after I tell you you're wrong.
