Welcome to the 2nd Demigod Community Tournament Scheduling Thread

Please use this thread to schedule your matches. Remember, all teams are responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches!

There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled.  It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums.  For instance, if I wanted to get a game going against AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:

Atma + Ba:  trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST.  Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works.  I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent. 

Something like that.  If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

And remember, you can use this thread, use pm's on the forums, use the lagwars vent, whatever method you want to get your games going.

 

 

So, all of that said, I'd like to kick things off and start checking in on folks availability for Saturday (10/16).  Ideally, I'd like to get as many people on at the same time on 10/16 and just get some games going to kick the tournament off.

yup.

Mcshane - just doing some math... did one of your losses come from rawrr/jona/nana?  If not, then its 1 loss to us and 1 loss to zen.  If rawrr/jona/nana/jon/kitchensink ended up being dq'd, it would be impossible for my team to beat your 2 loss record as you technically wouldn't have to play any more games... that's why I say we should wait until wed when we decide whats going to happen (that is, if darz v nana game doesn't happen by then).  If that happens, then you are guys are in clear and win the round robin.  If not, then I could be a pisser and we might have to play a few more games to finalize round robin...

Yes one loss to Zen one loss to you.  And no, no one's going to play a few more games to finalize the round robin, you don't have an argument as to why we should.  I'm in the middle of exams right now, not making time to prove we won when we clearly clinched top place exactly one month ago today with our last victory over you.

In that case, Rawrr/4Nana + Jona + Hedgie we can play today for the next 2/3/4h, and tomorrow at same time i mencioned previously 14 to 18h est.

Dunno how long u guys want to prolong this, but if we cant get the match done untill tomorrow, we can play (if its still in time) next weekend almost at any hour... but plz remember we are in euro and we do sleep once in a while :P

Iz whenever you guys happen to start logging on kalel stops and vice versa :P.  If you could give me a specific date and time other then "we are on right now or sometime tmw"  that would be really helpful.

During week days, we can play every day from 14 to 18 est.

At weekends, we can play from around 9 to 20 est.

 

what about u guys? any way we can play today at 14h est??

Please speak with mith and get his availability through tuesday of this week. 

Here is my availability.  I'll pop in on and off during these times; however, if you actually want to get your game in, you should schedule a specific time as disqualifications will occur on tuesday after midnight if the games haven't been played (eg 3 days to get 2 out of 3 games in or dq).

  • Sunday - Free on and off from noon est - 1am est.
  • Monday - Free from 6pm est - 1am est
  • tuesday - Free from 6pm est - 1 am est

Tuesday would work the best for me, Monday is up in the air because I have a program due on that night by 9:30 and me and my partner are having difficulty with it at the moment. Tonight I wont really be around at a perdictable time because I am going to be leaving shortly to work on that program with my partner until and unknown time.

i have 2 finals on tuesday, one is at 6pm, and I have to study for those 2 on monday, it's impossible for me to play before that. I could play wednesday, but i bet mith has similar issues. I think it's totally retarted to push out of nowhere the tournament now when everyone is at the bussiest in their RL.

That said - it sounds like after 7 or 8pm on tuesday would work then, right?  I totally get that studying and doing well in school is QUITE important for you folks, but do consider we are talking about 3 hours max time, and unless your final takes like 5 hours to complete, it sounds like you (eg you only, not speaking for your team), could play then around then if you wanted to.  Whether or not your teammates are available is really for you to determine and see if you can come up with an alternate if 2 of your are available.  I get that this is a pain in the ass, but we allowed for alternates to improve the odds of resolving scheduling conflicts.  I can comfortably say that if you can't make it happen on tuesday and SCHEDULE at time on wed, then I certainly wouldn't vote to dq you.  But if your team didn't make it by then, my vote would be to dq so we can end this tournament this week.

this is totally retarded. you guys had excuses such as I have poker night, have to go study some time with friends or go bowl, soccermom is not online ... when my team had found dates. And now out of nowhere when it fits you best if we cannot make it we will be disqualified, awesome. I get out at 8pm, that means 8:30 - 11pm realistically. That's ridicously late for kira, and I don't know if mith can play.

(I'm working on alternates at this very moment, but wednesday is the earliest I can play because after 8pm it gets too late and kira would have to start the matches at 4 am in the morning. You outpicked the bussiest 2 days of my school year to announce a due date)

 

My question to you guys is, do you want a nice tournament within a small community, or just end it as fast as possible at a random point with a 2 day due date ?

This is the same thing that happened with jona, randomly he started to care when the official disqualification dates are finalized after weeks of nothing. 

What if we say Wednesday 6-8PM is the official first round tournament check in time, if you can play before then great, if you're not sitting there waiting to play on Wednesday then DQs.  Thursday, same time frame will be for the championship game.
