Problem applying theme

Did you right click on the NeXuS diamond shaped icon and then choose open all modules in the menu that opens?

That option is non-existent on my version of Nexus Ultimate, Doc. ( Version10.7) I have no Modules options at all. Is it part of Winstep or is it because I have the giveawayoftheday version?

Desktop modules are only part of Winstep Xtreme.

To re-cap:

Nexus free: single dock.

Nexus Ultimate: multiple docks, sub-docks, Shelf (tabbed dock).

Winstep Xtreme: everything plus the kitchen sink, including NextSTART (the menu, hotspot, and task management system), Start Menu Organizer and the desktop modules (i.e.; each Winstep in-dock meter/module has a 'bigger brother' in the form of a desktop module/widget).

Wizard1956, you can upgrade to Winstep Xtreme from your GOTD copy of Nexus Ultimate for only $14.95 (Xtreme costs $39.90, by the way).

Thanks for clarifying that for me.  Winstep Xtreme is going on my wish list!

P.S. I'm thoroughly enjoying Nexus Ultimate, great software!!!5* B)

I should have clarified... that's Winstep Extreme 10.8 Beta1 (now Beta 2). I assumed the Nexus component would be the same. Sorry, guys!

Randy... if Jorge will tell me how, you'll have Xmas/Hannukah slightly early. :)

Jorge, I have the GOTD also. So I'm with Doc, please let me know how to get Winstep Xtream full version for $14.95 and I will get it today.

Jorge, if you see this post please answer one other question. When I purchase the xtream should I uninstall my HOTD first before I install Xtream?

For those who want to upgrade from Nexus Ultimate (GOTD or otherwise) to Xtreme:

1. In the top right corner of the About tab of Nexus Ultimate Preferences you should see a 'Upgrade to Xtreme' button. That will take you to the 'Upgrade Nexus Ultimate to Xtreme' order page.

2. Once you've placed your order (your license key will be sent soon after that), here is what you should do:

a) Open the Advanced tab of Nexus Ultimate Preferences and Backup your Nexus Ultimate settings to the DESKTOP folder (do NOT store the settings file to the normal backup location as that will be removed on uninstall).

b) Now you have two options: you can uninstall Nexus Ultimate or install Winstep Xtreme on top. If you chose to uninstall Nexus Ultimate, it's probably a good idea to tell the uninstaller that you want to keep your settings and themes (otherwise you'll lose any themes you have downloaded since installing Nexus Ultimate). If you decide to install Xtreme on top, the 'Winstep Xtreme' entry will replace the 'Nexus Ultimate' entry in Add/Remove Programs , but, after installation you will have to manually delete the 'nexus-ultimate.exe' file from 'C:\Program Files\Winstep\' (or 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Winstep\' if you are running a x64 bit version of Windows).

c) Download and install the trial version of Winstep Xtreme v10.6 from the Winstep web site.

d) Open WorkShelf Preferences and Restore the previously saved Nexus Ultimate settings.

e) Once you receive your license key, follow the instructions on the email to register your copy of Winstep Xtreme (the trial is 100% functional and all the key does is allow you to use it past the 30 day trial period). Please note that, unlike the serial number used in the GOTD version of Nexus Ultimate, the Xtreme license key is NOT something you type in, the key is self-installable instead. Just follow the instructions on the email and you'll be fine. :)

Once you are fully registered, and if you would like to try the v10.8 beta which is packed with new features (see the preview video below), head on to the Winstep forums, sign up, and apply for access to the Beta Discussion forums.

Preview video of the next release of the Winstep Nexus dock: system tray on the dock, Windows 7 "superbar" abilities (even on XP) with Aeropeek (Vista/7), nine new cool dock mouseover effects, and MUCH MORE!

Win Step Extreme is definitely the way to go. IF anyone who got the free GOTD, it's a good opportunity, considering the discounted price. B)

Is there any way we can have the CPU module show individual core usage (per core) for a multi core CPU?

I might also ask, is there a way to center justify module text, so that some stuff don't extend off the background?

Yeah...it's called feedback/comments!  If this is happening on any of my themes it would be great if somebody...anybody would let me know so it can be fixed...or...you can just watch it run off the background image. ;) This shouldn't be happening and if I don't see it happening on my screen I just assume (probably shouldn't do that though) everything is ok...so feedback is a good thing!

Oh! And since the comments indicator is not working and email notifications aren't working...a PM would be good as well since I would see that faster...that is as long as that is still working.

Steve, check your PM.

That would not be very pratical for what should essentially be a compact desktop module. For instance, an i7 920 has four physical cores, wich Windows sees as 8 cores with hyperthreading enabled. Newest CPUs will feature 6 physical cores: that's 12 cores to visualize with hyperthreading enabled. Unless you want the CPU module to cover your whole 30" 2560x1600 screen in 2020, the answer is no, sorry. ;-)

Skinning Module?

Theme builder. To simplify the new UI, most of the skinning options were removed from the programs themselves. The idea is to have a dedicated theme builder app.

Then I can give WebGiz a run for his money? That is, unless he has them all done by then. He is cranking them out!!! And I'm reelin'em in!

Skinning Module?

Typos happen to us all. Some of us even understand the intended meaning when they do. Why not leave the corrections (when necessary) to Jafo, Jim?
