Resizing as my Wallpaper right now
. Thanks Frogboy.
Exciting...
remembers me of the warlords map etheria ![]()
Is this the cloth map view from ingame?
If it is does this mean we can add names and stuff to place on the map?
Pantasd, I hope we get reptile continent to the south in an expansion.
Comparing it to the old map, I can see some changes, the most visible are the addition of the Northern Fence and the change of Yoren to "unknown".
Edit: Now I see that the other map comes from the Destiny's Embers book, so they may be from different epochs.
Hurr, hurr... Am I the only one who just wants to sail away to the central island and establish a massive, iron fortress of doom there?
... You people stay off The Island! *fist-shaking*
On a side-note, yes, it does somewhat resemble Etheria, but not by much.
Very nice map by the bottom.
maybe
lets first try these map
good idea, i might join you
Is it just me, or does the "Unknown" area scream "something nasty will turn up here in the campaign"? ![]()
Nice map! I hope there will be a sandbox option in the game where we can play in that world, both single and multiplayer.
The logo could be a tad downward (not so close from the map) or a bit more reduced.
Here's a 1920x1080 (16:9) wallpaper I removed the text from and resized/cropped.

I've always hated promotional text in my wallpapers.
Frogboy, I've been meaning to ask for a while now: Was your map directly inspired by Tolkien's, or did you only realize after the fact that they were similar (at least in terms of the general layout)?
It wasn't inspired by Middle Earth nor do I think it's that similar to Arda (and I saw that post awhile back that showed a particular version of Arda (http://md.dndgamer.com/TOLKIEN/Arda.jpg) -- which is not at all accurate incidentally, Numenor is shaped all wrong, the west was done very differently, and the rest is pure speculation of what the rest of the world looked like.
This is what Numenor looked like:
http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/n/numenor.html
Middle Earth: (the east)
http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/m/middleearth.html
and Arda: (the west)
http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/v/valinor.html
This is the most accurate map of Arda I could find:

Anyway, the map of Anthys (the part of Elemental we're concerned with) is a split between east and west with a natural barrier between them (water) with a half-way point (and island). It's not the most original way to split two factions apart but it wasn't inspired by Middle Earth.
I didn't know Middle Earth was... such a boring looking map (the Elven island) ![]()
Anyways, I wanted to ask if it seems like the Empire factions have quite a bit more usable land then the Kingdoms. Umber and Magnar both seem really large compared to something like Gilden or New Pariden (Capitar seems decent sized). Seems like they'd have more resources and room for expansion which would be a nice benefit.
I wander whats in that unknown area to the North... ![]()
honestly it looks kinda like the alaska-russia "border" (if one can call it that) to me.
I can almost see Putin from Ragnir's Eye.
Ok Palin... ![]()
Interesting that the Arda map that Frogboy posted is in Polish...
(except the border texts which seem to be in Elvish)
Actually, there are a couple surface similarities between the Elemental map and Arda -- specifically, as Arda appeared in the First Age before the Valar overthrew Morgoth: Both continents were, like yours, joined by a land bridge at the very northern end(s), plus of course the large island in the middle of the sea (Numenor in Tolkien's world). That's really all I was referring to; I'm aware the geography is otherwise very different between Tolkien's world and your own.
By the by: Does that island in the middle of the sea have a name? I was just wondering.
Gotcha. Well I'd say it was about as good a way to split the factions as any, plus this way it's easy for the "casual" fan to understand.
I do really like the map, by the way; it has a lot of character. I do have just one other question, though: It appears the Greater Skarps and Imperial Spine likely form a single mountain chain (that briefly goes underwater between the two continents). I was curious as to whether that was deliberate, or if it just worked out that way?
I would like to request a bigger screen with higher resolution to view your map.
Necro threading. I would like this map in game to be played. Or at least a western continent version like the east we have. Also, the unknown part of the map is Yoren. Just telling bitches what they need to know. And Polis isn't on this map either, it's at the sea near the river that flows from Athica. And Umber is Athos...I'm rambling. Ether way, I want more maps, as the premade ones are superior to the random ones.
THIS. A thousand times over.
This map came with the Book and was playable in WoM, and I played it's dick off (that means a lot).
I don't see that geographic feature on the map anywhere...
