Games to be made.

I know there are lots of old school games out there, with more game-play than most of the new ones, they just need to be re-made right.

 

Here are some I can think of, off the top of my head:

 

WAR, INC.  (your a mercenary company.. includes stock investing, cloning troops, building an army that came with you from mission to mission, maybe the addition of a conquest map)

DOMINUS (just full of awesome features.. it is just a couple things short of being one of the most awesome strategy games ever)

CASTLES!  (an old castle building sim that took weeks of my life)

BTW, I think most of these are abandonware.. soo you can download them free and play with dosbox.   just to get an idea of what they are. I still like them even with the dated graphics.

 

 

Anyone else have any great old games that need to be redone that I am missing?

I've been dying for someone to come up with a PC version of Hyborian War, the PBE game based in the Age of Conan... 

And if Stardock thinks it's as brilliant an idea as I do  :|   I want some credit!  heh..

X-Com or Dungeon Keeper;  though I feel like an X-Com like title would be better suited to Stardock's turn based talents.  Especially with the possibility of Drengin type aliens.  :grin:

remembers Master of Monsters (could also be a mod, hint hint!) from the Sega genesis, or Star Control. Either one would be sweet. Im all for Dungeon Keeper too.

Masters of Monsters was a great game. There was a remake for the PS that was horrible though.

Another vote for Dungeon Keeper.

Plus, can one go more hardcore than Dwarf Fortress?

But still, Dungeon Keeper I think is a perfect game for Stardock - it is tight game that can be done with limited budget. I do not think Stardock would want to remake some kind of RPG such as Planscape Torment- it will simply fail in scope, plus, RPG scene is quite clouded.

As for things like MoM and even Alpha Centauri, I think one can mod Elemental to get there, so, in a sense it is done.

I love Stardock but they would definitely not be my first choice for a PS:T remake.
