Forums go Boom every time I try to post!

Has anyone else been having this problem lately? At least half the time I try to post, the forums go Boom and my post is eaten. And it's periodic; for example, I've tried to post something like 5 times in the past 10 minutes but it won't work. But I posted something earlier in the day and it worked just fine, but the day before I couldn't post anything either.

Also, if this post works, I will cry.

I was around the site 40 minutes this morning (UK time). I only got into one thread...

While in there I tried four times to post something, each time went boom.

This is typical of early morning access.

We've tried yet another solution to resolving this problem around noon EST.  According to our database logs there haven't been any recorded errors, so if anyone notices them today or in the near future please post here or contact me privately.  Be sure to include the time you tried to make your post :)

Then that may be part of the problem, because obviously its been an error-fest around here for quite some time.

No, we've seen all of the previous errors.  My comment was in regards to errors since we made the database change at noon EST.  We do see your error, for example, in our logs.  Luckily, it seems like only you and one other person have experienced problems at 2:08-2:11 PM.  If we've reduced errors to just 2 every 2 hours, then at least we're getting somewhere :)

EDIT: Btw, change your avatar :p  I don't like animated GIF's and it shouldn't even be possible to upload one.  I'd be curious as to how you did it (did some Stardockian do it for you :p)

I don't like animated GIF's and it shouldn't even be possible to upload one.

Specific threads have been reduced to a crawl [loading-wise] when inundated with animations.

Most are somewhere between useless and just plain childish.

As with all things.....in moderation is fine.

But, I'm on another forum where most everyone has an animated gif avatar and animated signatures with less posts per page and they run with no problems what so ever.

Don't cut the arm off because of an infected finger. FIX THE FINGER.
