Karma - what is it good for?

Karma - what is it good for?

Are there any advantages of having a high karma? If not, what's the point of the whole karma system of this forum?

(I'm just curious, I don't think I'll ever have much of it :) )

What does that mean Frankief? Give what karma? If that is what you mean then you are correct. I am guilty of not giving any but truthfully I was not sure I could. I am only an apprentice and thought that was something only people with more privileges can partake in. I guess I need to do my homework more. Thank you for pointing that out to me.

Hey Frankief I took no offence to it. On the contrary I was happy you made me realize my neglect. Thank you for the karma too. One good turn deserves another.

Karma is a belief that you are somehow gonna get out of the pit, when the bossman has to keep you in the pit so his kid doesn't have to work there.

If I was some kind of soc sci grad student, I think I might be able to get a paper out of the differences in karma system participation across Stardock's various sites.

My casual-observer take is that the WinCustomize folks are much more likely to have high karma totals than other Stardock users, and my main question about that is whether it's a local-site culture thing or mainly driven by the old 'ranking' system that let some of us on some sites give more than 1 karma at a time.

Mainly, though, it seems like WC users are the karma-economic elite... :-|

It's a bit that way, but also longevity and frequency of interaction...;)

That just reminds me how weird it feels that I did OK in AP calculus and ended up in the 'social sciences.' I know enough math and philosophy to know that many statistical arguments are delusional or deceitful, but the only thing I'm really certain about is that I shouldn't be certain...

Lies....damn lies.... and statistics ....;)

Its really how old you are. Its a secret code we use to befuddle the masses. It has neither this nor that. It is an illusion. A ghost, a wisp of nothing. It is ............ what was the question? o_O

Thing is though there should be NEGATIVE Karma so we can reduce some of these who give themselves karma all the time. Some karma sites do it right you can get + and - karma and you really gotta be nice on those forums for if you get enough negative karma you are banned.

Yeah, a real bugger. I tried to give you negative karma but it just wouldn't work.

In the Mirror Universe, you can only give negative Karma. :X

But only if he does it backwards. ;)

Karma is like money. to get some you got to do stuff. Visit more often, participate in the forums blah blah blah.

As for resolutions. Sorry ... all out of resolutions. New Years came and went and so did all the resolutions. Come hang out with us. We don't bite. Too too much.

So, in other words, if I post stupid statements that serve no purpose to other members posts, people will start coughing up karma? LOLk2
