Aero Station WB: Released

After some time-off from skinning (not my choice, been really busy with work the last couple of months) I noticed that RedneckDude had created a theme called Aero Station. He made DX goodies, ObjectDock backgrounds, a cursor, etc., but there was no WindowBlind!

I asked him if he would allow me to make the blind, and he graciously allowed me. I'm really liking it so far!

The skin is now available here: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/7176/

I like the way you did the color blocks on the start panel  I'm really looking forward to watching this develop.

This looks great    But i'm not sure about the close/min/max buttons and their colors :|

Thanks everybody! :)

i'm not sure about the close/min/max buttons and their colors

Ok, then what would you suggest?

The Start menu is great. My only concern is that you're going to spoil him.

I would suggest the gray buttons like in my DX and maybe those colors on mouse over.   O:)

For the min/max/close buttons i would suggest making them dark grey round buttons, and on mouse over they should get a second circle around them just like the way the start button looks but instead of the win flag they should have - ,x, square sign.

How's this?

Deea, I will consider it; however, I do happen to like the small splash of colors--it adds. ;)

OOOOOO, I like that Brian!

My first reply was about the colored buttons, but hey, this is your blind. I'll reserve judgement on the colors until you get further along, who knows what your magic will bring to this skin!!

Hey Jim, I'm slightly perplexed about the taskbar buttons. I don't like the way they're shaping up as per the original design. Seems like icons want to hang out, and things just aren't looking right.

I tried a grey button alternative. Let me know which you like better.

The upper half I guess. I like the lower buttons better, but if the icon is gonna hang off, then there isn't much choice, is there?

Kinda what I was thinking, Jim. I like the bottom half better, but the upper half works a lot better.

Another thing, is the mouse-over glow in W7. It wasn't showing up very well with a darker button. I've lightened it up some so that the glow can show through.

That works for me!

Lookin good MG!

Ehhh...looks like shit! The buttons are all wrong! Must be the graphics! XD   :-"

Looks good MG!

Excellent, Mg. I also like Jim's idea about the min/resize/close buttons. Are squares an option as to shape.??? I also agree about the upper vs the lower....no real choice, damn it.

And don't listen to WG.   What does he know? Even Google Earth won't show where he lives. :P

I think adding a text background to match the titlebutton background would look good.

If this is for W7 do not make the menu bar or tool bar colour text white or light gray, it does not show well or can be totally unreadable in MSIE 8, which a light blue default colour that cannot be changed.

i hate to say it but, having to stick to dark colors there.. is really really restrictive on the part of the skinner... if IE8\ 9 is going to be this much of a pain.. and it is.. I would suggest all WB users start using Firefox.

Looking great so far, Brian!  Can't wait to see how it develops and anxious to see the finished product!

Sounds like a good idea. Thanks!

Wasn't planning on it, though catering to the demands of an unbending web browser is not high on my priority list.

I would suggest all WB users start using Firefox.
