Well, I do't know if Storm will come back. To be honest, I wouldn't come on here if I had been the victim of the flamewar. People should start returning, as you said.

Oh, and once someone takes a good look at this flame war, from a 3rd person view, they would see that it is as hilarious and funny as it was hurtful and wrong. The analogy is 50-50.

You know the Annual General Inspection of the cadet force I'm in? Well, unknown to me, only about half of the CCF (Combined Cadet Force) I'm in gets to go (ie the best go on display, and as a reward, effectively, get to do the other stuff at the AGI as well. After all, you don't want to make a bad impression in front of a Brigadier)

Hooray! I was picked for being well presented (clean kit and stuff) and being good at drill and combat training. My weak points are first aid and observation, so there's always stuff to work on.

Well, you've heard yet another story from the darkest depths of Britain. Not a particularly interesting story for the rest of you, but it definitely made me happy.

What do you mean? As in, Army, RAF or Navy, or what regiment the CCF is affiliated to?

Answer to the first is the land army.

We're affiliated with the Coldstream Guards, mainly because our commanding officer was the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Coldstream Guards (highest NCO rank in a regiment, otherwise known as Warrant Officer 1st Class)

It's pretty important to him, seeing as it's going to be the Brigadier of his Regiment.

I second Storm's happy birthday. Have fun!

 

And Morph: The idea is that if you choose the best half, you're likely to get people who won't muck up. If one or two people do something wrong, it's not that much of a problem. I mean, people make mistakes in the real thing out in Afghanistan, so I'm sure that the Brigadier will appreciate that everyone makes mistakes sometimes.

I doubt it will all go wrong. After all, it's not as if we are at all a badly-performing CCF, and if just the top half are taken, then it is double the garantee for quality. Our CO will know what the Brigadier expects, and we will meet and exceed all expectations (hopefully) ;P

Snipe: I was only curious what would be the repercussions on the regiment if you muck up (hypothetically speaking).
