Elemental Beta 1-G plans

The next public beta of Elemental adds Dyansties, Spells, and Quests.  I’m pleased to say that those features are in but they aren’t even slightly balanced or remotely polished yet.  Moreover, there are some blatant bugs (AI is threaded now and there are times that it isn’t triggering the semaphore) that we need to deal with.

So with that in mind, we’re going to go ahead and push Beta 1-G back.  Because next week is the launch of Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, our next window is February 18th.  It just doesn’t make sense to foist a beta on the beta group that has quite so things to address still.

Geez Louise, that sucks.  I know it happens, and perhaps in the long run it's even for the best, but with this latest setback, it'll have been two months since the last update.  That is very discouraging.

well this sucks. as of nowi can't play elemental for more than 5 min before it crashes, so i real dont see why another unstable patch would make a diffreance. not like it will make the game run longer.

I like the armor, but the Lady Sara looks a bit too much like my English teacher for me to breed her with any trogs....

I'm assuming that since she's dressed for combat that old daughters-as-poitical-capital-only idea is more or less out thye window?

I just realized this: if Sarah is going to be an actual soverign name (as opposed to just a stand-in), spell it "Serra", "Serah", or something else slightly exotic and uncommon. Regular old American (or wherever, no time for the Google) Sarah just seems a tiny bit out of place in a fantasy game.

scoutdog: Besides Faction names, all race data is filler at this point (including Sovereign names and most Sovereign Models).

Same names and words in different languages exist without having similar meaning. Just saying. John is also known as "bathroom/toilet", and althought that's getting into slang I find it funny. Slang is "ginchy". :P

@Scoutdog: Sarah, as a name, is about 3500 years old (Abraham's wife). As for the spelling, Sarah is the the best possible translation of the name from Hebrew (yes, the 'H' should be there, though it's pronounced 'sa-RAH').

My point is, the 'oldschool' name some times happen to be the common one.

And Serra is a character from the M:TG multiverse.

Well, you can have a female channeler at least anyway. I hope they did toss that idea. Maybe it fits with history better, but since this is a fantasy world it doesn't have to, and its just not something I think is a "fun" concept for a part of the player base.

Hair. Elemental needs lots of options for hair. Lots. Long, short, Emo, Bad and more.
