The next public beta of Elemental adds Dyansties, Spells, and Quests.  I’m pleased to say that those features are in but they aren’t even slightly balanced or remotely polished yet.  Moreover, there are some blatant bugs (AI is threaded now and there are times that it isn’t triggering the semaphore) that we need to deal with.

So with that in mind, we’re going to go ahead and push Beta 1-G back.  Because next week is the launch of Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, our next window is February 18th.  It just doesn’t make sense to foist a beta on the beta group that has quite so things to address still.

Either way, beta "testers" will still be playing.  If you're in the beta, who cares about a release date, to some degree.

yes it is quite plain and average, though i'm sure in time her beauty will become apparent. Also, if in that time she decides to show more skin I will not argue one bit... :P

Considering that (for the current placeholders) Tarth is a seafarer faction that has recently become interested in the lands of their ancestors, Lady Sarah should be like this*:

And should have a more approiate name like Lady Sango. Alien enough so only a very precise part of the global population find it too common. Or Kin (欽) Suzume (雀) if you are into homages and certain webpage is right.

Building systems is a lot harder then populating them. There's five beta phases scheduled, but if you look at later betas, most of the basic gameplay is being done in beta 1. Stuff will get tweaked and changed later, but this beta represents a disproportionaly large amount of work compared to the others.

So at the moment, the schedule is still doable. If not, they'll move it. No worries.

The "latest" public build -- the one you have -- is from last year. Let's keep some perspective.

In Sins of a Solar Empire, the team (Ironclad/Stardock) only got infinite resource in during *release candidates*.  That's right, up until the release candidates, the asteroids ran out of resources after awhile. 

In fact, at this stage with Sins of a Solar Empire's beta (7 months before release) there were no phase lanes, no broadcast centers and thus no culture. Not because they hadn't been put in yet but because they hadn't been thought of yet.

You'll be getting several features not listed as goals for 1G (Custom Facitons Editor AND Custom Sovereign Editor, to name two) plus much more content for the implemented features. For example, right now there are TWO quests in the game...

So Froggy, how we looking on Beta 2 then? Mid Marchish? Or perhaps early April ish? Building a Core I7 machine to replace this 5 year old Pentium 4. So Just wondering how long I got to put it together before I can get my hands on Some Elemental Beta action.
