Community Theme Project - St. Patrick's Day

Community Theme Project - St. Patrick's Day

Okay folks,  I thought it would be nice to continue with a St. Particks's Day Theme.  My idea, subject to further input from the community would use those items that we generally associate with the Holiday.  I'm thinking: Green, 4 leaf clovers, rainbow, pot of gold, Leprechauns, Irish, The Blarney Stone, Magicial.  Did I miss anything?

It would be nice to have skins for the following:   (updated to show skin volunteers)

•WindowBlinds (XP, Vista and Win 7) - Vampothika

•BootSkins -

•CursorFX - k10w3

•DesktopX Theme - RedneckDude

•DesktopX Widgets (weather, clock, etc) - Weather RedneckDude,  Clock The AV Man

•Dream - Ausvet, amitsaran

•Icons -

•Logons - Frankief

•Object Dock - Backgound G3mpi3,  Icons k10W3

•Rainlendar -k10w3

•RightClick - Vampothika

•ScreenSaver - amitsaran, Ausvet

•SysMetrix - Lantec

•Trillian Astra - G3mpi3

•Wallpaper - Frankief, k10w3

•Winstep -

•Xion Skin - k10w3

Other than the WindowBlind I see no problem with having multiple skins in the Theme.  This would allow the user to set up their desktiop with different looks.  For instance DeskScapes now has a function for changing the background,  folks would be able to have their DeskScapes rotate through backgrounds.

If you would like to do a skin that is not listed please leave a comment on the thread.

At the end the themed skins would be wrapped up in a Theme Manager Suite, I have to do something.

We need ideas for a unique name plus design ideas for the WindowBlind.  If someone is all ready working on something, all the more better.

Okay, so lets sse some volunteers and hear your thoughts.

I have finally found a picture worth basing the skin apon...(inspiration if you will)

I would like to steer away from the norms of green, leprechauns, clovers ect.  I thought of a new name too.. Saint Patrick.

I hope people can appreciate the twist I would like to do, instead of the norm, im still making it a magical theme too..

I will be uploading some images in the next few days... xxx

Vamps, I think this suite is to be the greenish, more commercial looking St. Patty's Day type thing. Not telling you what to do but I believe, if you read this thread, from the get go it was decided that we'd go with the everyday idea of St.Patrick's day....shamrocks, green beer, all the things you see on TV and in stores. Not the way you're going.

This kinda thing....

RedneckDude is right, that was what I was hoping for, but in all fairness, we have to see what you post in the next few days before we jump off the bridge.  :O

Just kidding, there's no water in the river.  :-"

I like that stained glass look and would be up for adding a few parts to a suite for it even if we go the Lucky Charms way on this particular one.......

Vamps... You're making the skin. Your way. Period.

Do it your way, because it'll be the best! (When you're done, don't forget to turn it upside down so it'll come out OK here in "Up Over").

In another reply above I acknowledged that I understood that there really are two St. Patrick's Day celebrations, the cheesy commercial one and the more traditional one.  The cheesy commercial one is what the theme is going for. :sun:

OP says "Irish". St. Patrick is Irish
Actually, he was Cumbrian RomanoBritish by birth in an area now part of Wales or north west England as Cumbria is Latin for both Wales and Cumbria - England and was captured at age 16 by Irish rebels to be enslaved - possibly he was a composite of 2 people as some sources give his father as Poitus whilst others give his father as Palladium. After 6 years as a slave he escaped to Europe and returned to Ireland in 431 (or 432 - 4 provinces in Ireland, 32 counties - having discounted the royal province of Tara) having completed Holy Orders.

Thank you my friend |-) and just so you know I never stopped Excalibur just for point of reference one reason I always build a clock with a window blind is toward the end of the blind running DX properties and importing graphics gives me an easy way to test certain buttons and sections in the skin.
