Guess my skinning days are coming to an end soon since I usually makes docks for skins I can use and don't forsee affording a new OS any time soon. Oh well....I need the vacation anyway.

It's kind of a pain, but therae are some of the skinnable things in XP that I wish were skinnable in Win7/Vista (File transfer animations!)...plus there are so many "white" parts in Win7/Vista that just look like @ss because they aren't skinnable, that aren't in XP, sometimes I think the XP skins looked better.

I tell you what, though...I sure won't miss those IE icons when XP finally gives up the ghost!

as the old saying goes, if something aint broke then don't fix it. Not everyone is ready to make the switch to windows 7. A lot of people are quite happy with XP because they know it so well. I figure this will be the case for a lot longer yet. At least until those people start upgrading to new systems.

XP has been dead in this household for about a year....on my PC's for about 2 1/2 years.  mrs starkers kept XP (dual boot with Vista) a while longer for a couple of apps she found didn't work as well in Vista.  We're both on Win 7 Home Premium x64 these days, though I still dual boot with Vista Ultimate, mostly for nostalgia cos I have it set up and tweaked exactly as I want it.

Now that's a first... cheaper in Oz than the US!  I woulda paid $129 (less 10% for cash = $113) for mine/ours.  That was when the Oz dollar was hovering around 92 - 93 US cents... so yeah, that's a bargain.

Yeah, there's a bit of a story with Jafo's dunny.  A rather shy and sheltered woman who was attending a BBQ complained that there was no door and no lock.  Quick as a flash, Jafo responds: "That's alright, luv, who's gonna steal a bucket of sh!t anyhow?"

Just kidding!  But honestly...the way things are right now I can't even afford to buy a Jafo dunny or a toothpick. And if something doesn't improve soon I might not even have internet in days to come. So blowing money on something that isn't broke isn't even on the table.

May be most of the people who frequent this forum have left XP for dead (I have) but 60% of the rest of the world unfortunately have not. Speaking of shell animations, I have great respect for Walt Disney & co in the early days, they did not have copy & paste, only pencil & paper. Spent yesterday doing an eighty frame animation, worked well, decided to change the colour of one part, in all eighty frames, then it decided not to play with my .avi software & had to abandon & start again!! everyone should have Windows 7.

I still love xp.
