I'm confuzzled.

I've seen Stardock step in on a lot of things. Sometimes in ends up in someone being banned or demoted. Sometimes it's just to set things right again.

So what the hell is going on here?!?!?!!?

C'mon!

Half the regulars know what the hell this is about.

Some mods and admins know.

Some have 'first hand' knowledge.

Who the hell runs things and who the hell is holding who hostage?

Are the new changes coming going to prevent this kind of shit? Is that why no one is stepping up? It's all gonna go away soon enough?

Five years ago this shit wouldn't have been tolerated. No way.

People have been banned for disagreeing so strongly with site policy or opinion that they threatened to pull their work and they were helped out the door for doing just that. At that point, I figured no one person would ever be able to manipulate the powers that be. Apparently I was wrong. It just takes one and a small host of goons who are willing to drink the Kool-Aid.

PoSmedley the only way to stop things like this from happening is to confront them head on, goons fall by the wayside when the instigator is throttled and put in their place. 

We all have opinions and granted some of us are more opinionated than others but we should never force those opinions on anyone. 

Funny how some opinions come off as forced and overly negative on just specific skins and then are sweet on others.

I'm open to opinions. Always.

Lately it's just hard to distinguish an opinion from a malicious-vengeful-bitchfit. Especially when it comes from someone who should be setting an example and not leading the hissies to a poisoned well.

When something bad happens in a Community...any Community the norms are enforced by those with the authority to do so.

However, it is not enough that justice be done, it must be seen to be done.

The offense should be made public and the proof against the offenders. The punishment must also be seen to be done.

That's the way it's done.

If there are rules that contravene this, I'd like to know where I can find them, and how to change them.

Why should there be rules for one thing and not the other? And why can one rule be broken and not the other?

Rules. Hmmph. Apparently the rules don't apply or have changed. If you want to enjoy your promotion to Master, you apparently better plan on being beholden to folks other than the people who put you there. And you better be prepared to pucker (buy some Chapstick, you're gonna need it) up and to drink the Kool Aid.

It's stuff like this that just sucks the desire to grow, expand, and try harder right out of me. Why bother?!  When the folks who can and should intervene have first hand knowledge of all the petty-hissy-pitching-BS don't put a stop to it, what is the point of walking into those chopper blades?

Why don't we just hand the site over?! They are probably sitting, hunkered over their keyboards, giggling like the lil bitches from Bring It On, IM'ing each other with lil pats on the back.

Well I think this discussion has probably gone as far as it should here in the forums.  I think it's time to send a PM or two to a few folks, which as a member of the community I have not only the right to but the responsiblity to. 

PoSmedley, I think your input would be useful also.  You probably know better whom to PM, but don't tell me, I have one or two folks in mind.

Someone who is not afraid to do so publicly and take advantage of the system to meet their own petty little end. Someone who obviously feels superior in every way and thinks they can determine who will and who won't succeed all on their own without ever having to suffer any consequences. Someone who would throw a tantrum and half if it was done to them, but is so selfish all they care about is their immediate gratification and their warped sense of justice over an 'opinion'. An opinion!

well since everyone is non-shilantly bashing vStyler or "MaxStyle" people for Kitty's faults, it was ME who said something about the skin...she used images from a website and i found them....she used images in her copy animation to profit on from a site that clearly said no redproduction of anything on the site without express persmission,...NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN images...and i have proof they are not public domain and then she even went on to say she drew it...there was no mention or permission or even credit, so if im the bad guy then so be it....i have nothing against Kitty and my wife loves her skins but i just think its messed up how it passed by the mods.....just as Po said "this wouldnt have happened 5 years ago" it would have been nipped in the bud the first time. On a different note about 5 years ago Satrdock wasn't handing out MASTER status for mediocrity.n When i first came to this site i thought i had somethign to work for and i have...then i upload a few SHITTY icons and BAM! i'm damn level up....did i deserve the level up? Probably not, i dont think i did, meanwhile we got top notch skinners here who are hanging in the backburners watching mediocre graphics artist get leveled up it seems every other month. i love this place and it has been a second home to me for the last 5 years but its getting rediculous....levels need to be given to those who's skills show Proffesionalism

 IMO.. Master skinner should not use other peoples ideas or images and thats why I said something, it sets an awful example.

Like I said...an uncommon amount of attention and research seems to go into critiquing certain skins than other skins by the same author. And certain authors for that matter.

I didn't catch all of what went down concerning 'this' skin. I would hope it didn't go down 'publicly' like you have done before in the forums and have been warned about. But I am sure if it did, the same folks had your back in the usual hurry.
