Windows 7: Enable Secret Godmode

Windows 7: Enable Secret Godmode

Have you ever wondered if there are any secret Windows 7 features? Most games have a godmode, something that will enable all cheats and features. Windows 7 too. This is going to be a brief tutorial that will allow you to enable the secret godmode in Windows 7.

This trick actually duplicates the Windows Control Panel, but it puts the 270 most useful commands from its various modules front-and-center.

Here's how to set it up:

• Create a new folder on the Windows desktop (Right-click > New > Folder).

• Rename the folder: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

If you've done it right, the folder icon will change to that of the Control Panel.

Double-click on it to see dozens of tweak categories, each with commands for changing many aspects of Windows 7's behavior. It initially appears in the Details view - I recommend changing it to Tiles view.

Happy New Year and a great 2010.

This doesn't expose anything more than the default view :\

Tried, but renaming failed because certain characters can't be used in file names.

Create New folder on desktop - Right Click - Go to properties.  A box will open that you will see at the top boxed in where it says New Folder.  Highlite it.  Hit back-space and copy and paste this text GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} All of it and then you are done !  Hope it helps...

Butch...you need to turn this into a widget.

Sounds like a really good idea, only problem is I havent played with DX in a long time and probably would end up making a load of you can guess what, but, if you know somebody who would like to make a widget I have no problem with that...|-)
