If you're just after Rebellion's reference files, see Harpo's [reference files] thread, eg end of the initial post.
The program to do this comes with the game, and the mod comes pre-loaded with ConvertEntities folders containing the necessary batch lines for working the magic. Simply drop them into the folder, run the appropriate .bat file, and you're done.
Currently zipping up a 1.84 compatible version of SOA2, will upload to moddb soon.
1.85 compatible version is live. Link
This release is compatible with the new DLC as well.

A very nice person taught me how to save a copy of Rebellion before the version update, so I have had no interruption of my SOA2 marathons.

Where can I find a stand alone ConvertEntity Folder? The links in this forum don't work for me. I would like a different method of getting it besides downloading this mod because, at the moment, it seems that this is the only way to get it right now.
Edit: the reason I ask is because it seems some people don't know you can change ship auto attack and I don't want to tell them= to download this whole mod just for the built in Converter. I don't want to step on anyone's toes so I thought I would ask you all before just putting it up myself.

As soon as it gets authed, it's there. Those are just standard batch lines for running the thing with the right files, nothing complicated.

That too, but that one was easy. I was already a crazy bastard and designed the concept for tribble infestations spreading by trade.
myfist0 psychoak is obviously beyond reason at this point. Is their nothing you can do? Will you not venture forth from your Fortress of Solitude to get him the help he needs? Perhaps we could dial his local 911?
Tribble infestations would have been nice actually. Slowly causing our pops to starve unless we took drastic measures. This seems more like a punishment than a boon.

True, it's all his fault. I'd have quit modding entirely before I did any of the crazy stuff, and they all started with a "what about this" that got my diseased brain going on six week sleep deprivation cycles.
