I have seen similar things with other race's SBs as well, eg Fed SB with a Cardassian SB name. It may be a side effect of loading a game that was saved with a different version of the string file. I've not replicated the problem when the number of strings stays the same (between saving and loading a game).

Yeah, I thought as much.... I seem to remember reading one of the fixes in the patch was changes to the string file, so that makes perfect sense.  Honestly, I was a little surprised the game loaded at all after I patched the Mod.  A lot of times saved games won't work after the mod gets updated.

FYI At game setup could not set the Klingon icon.

Kept reverting to another one.

I presume you were Klingon at the time?

 

Icon selection requires the use of the side before you select your icon, a necessary stricture for the AI to use them automatically.  There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the system, if you've managed to bugger it beyond this though, I'll attempt to replicate.

Treading lightly isn't something the insane bother with, thus the lack of posts recently.  Note that it doesn't say anything about being bug free either.  X1 is already complicated enough that minor efficiency improvements lead to catastrophic breakdowns in functions no one noticed for months. :)

Anything from a lone ship and a completely structured plot line where you go from A to B and hooey happens, to a full blown war, scripted or partially scripted.  A Dominion War setting would be preferential, famous ship captains would not unless Patrick Stewart pops into the thread and says he'd love to read your script for the mod. :)

Yes, at setup AI set to Klingon. 

First Klingon icon in second row seems fine.

It's the Klingon icon 5th row #2 that doesn't seem to conform. ^_^  

Latest patch.

Not to piss in the wind , but random events are great...but never in Sins do I want to be led from point A to point B.

One go through might be interesting, but how many times would you want to repeat the same encounter?

But seriously, the only issue is I have to admit (hanging my head in shame...) I haven't as the played the Dominion very much at. I'm old school, I was 7 when "The Man Trap" premiered.... scared the hell out of me!!!   I still prefer the original big 3....   I'll need to play a couple games as the Dominion and get to know them better.  Then sure, I'll see if I can come up with something interesting for y'all to play around with.

Ahh, that is a bug, thanks for finding.  :thumbsup: k1

I added 2 special icons for the new npcs, these are special players, like House of Duras, Maquis, Sona, etc. I had to move the 2 Borg hands to make room for a row of 10 special NPC icons.

The bottom row of selectable icons are supposed to be Borg hands, that icon you tried was for House of Duras, other is Orion Syndicate.

each race uses 1 row, let's say if you try to select #3 icon from Federation races row and you are playing Klingon, it will use #3 icon from the Klingons row. This is to ensure that random AI races get there proper icons, I could not stand it to see federation with Borg icons and Romulans with Klingon icons, etc.

Just have to chime in here and say I seriously appreciate the work you guys put in to this, it is fantastic in every way!  I've spent more time with this mod then I have with any other game on my PC to date.  The new updates, especially the ship model updates like the Sona are just a sight to behold.  I sincerely wish I could pay you guys for this work as it is just top notch in everyway conceivable.  Thank you all very much!

Very rare you can get clips from movies, shows, without background music playing. It sounds very cheesy in-game.

A little music in the sound file wouldn't always be bad, esp if it was Treky..better than losing a little flavor. IMHO.

Besides..most of us are having huge battle's with a soundtrack.... :D

The other file is in mono and the frequencies are too tight to each other to really isolate much without destroying it. This one has some distortion but should be minor when heard against music.

The headquarters are for added functions.  Thanks to an elegant ability design, the pirate headquarters actually spawn ships based on the existence of the various colonized neutrals, as those other factions.

It's an interesting mod. I'm going back and forth between this one and the new Armada 3 mod. Unfortunately for me, this mod is not stable. It has crashed on me 4 times at random intervals. I'm going to try a couple things first, but if it refuses to be a stable mod then I may have to remove it. A shame, it looks interesting.
