Fleet decloak is a one off, but not an ultimate as it exists for function, not to enhance the power of a ship.

The Romulan's is and isn't an ultimate, level 3 of the ability is significantly more powerful and requires level 6 to get.  The Klingon's(I assume you meant the carrier) simply lacks an ultimate entirely.

I don't know if it's been reported already, but I just had a Nebula cast "Gemini Effect", and the resultant "phantom" ship was immediately assimilated by a nearby borg ship.  The assimilated Nebula then cast it's own "Gemini Effect", meaning there were now two borg Nebulas against my original one.  This seemed off for several reasons: 1) the ship that got assimilated wasn't a "real" ship, 2) that ship's shields were still up, 3) the ship that cast "assimilation" was not an elite.

After the spell's duration expired, both the Borg controlled phantoms self-destructed.

If this is working as intended, or has already been reported, I apologize.

The clone is a "Frigate" as opposed to a "CapitalShip" for mechanical purposes.

As such, it can be assimilated by the normal frigate assimilation methods.  The clone has no abilities to use, is weapon disabled, and will expire after a set time whether the Borg steal it or not.  The second clone would have been from the original ability.

I can set the ship up to expire on conversion though, that would be more practical.

Yeah, I didn't realize the ability generated two clones; the tooltip made it sound like it only made one, which is why I was confused.

Anyway, the abilities are disabled on the clones, but they do deal weapon damage; at least to planets (didn't notice whether they fired at ships or not).  Both of the "clone" Nebulas started bombarding my nearby planet once in Borg hands, and dealt significant damage before they expired.  Also, most of the rest of my fleet automatically re-targeted and started attacking the clones once they'd been converted, which would be a nuisance even if the clones *were* impotent, though it's admittedly less of a big deal.

Having them expire if they get converted seems like a good solution, though just making them immune to conversion still makes more intuitive lore-sense to me.

Any chance of a pre-Christmas release?

Im trying. If we do release tomorrow, expect a few small bugs and some missing particles and icons for the new ship and models.

SoA2.0.6.8 full version is uploading now, should be authorized tomorrow.

Edit:

Authorized

Feedback is needed from DLC and non-DLC users on whether or not certain unmentionables are problematic or not.  Non-DLC users in particular should be paying attention to whether or not they run into kill zones where the AI has been random event trashed.

I've been playing on the Huge Ring Map and no hiccups so far, but those random events.... you are evil!

The ring map doesn't actually have the new content with regards to random events.  Those are just the vanilla results you're seeing.

Cause I played three other maps, I don't think those events were on the ring map though.

Sent you a PM so as to avoid any spoilers.

Played the update for an hour or so. Nice touches on the new ships and structures. It's always nice to have a couple of "woah" moments with each new release and had a few tonight. Great work.

Merry Christmas SOA2 team!

Is that Rudolph's nose or Impulse lights a glowing?

Happy holidays to all of the SOA2 team.......

I am loving whats been done so far. Though im not a big fan of Armada stuff i can see why you guys chose to use it. It does fit in nicely surprisingly.

Model, and Texture "upgrades".. Awesome! Hope to see all the meshes upgraded similarly. Especially the Dominion.

New models.. Outstanding! Especially the So'Na. Master works. One suggestion is to tone down some of the reflection on the Sona ships. Shiny is good. Chrome.. well...

All in all an outstanding update.

Major Stress Approves! :congrat:

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Just a note: Research seemed a little fast, don't know if you tweaked it from stock game.

I downloaded SoA2.0.6.8 last night and I'm playing one of the SoA Random maps... and so far it's been awesome.  Couple of nice surprises I won't bother to mention and spoil for you all...

One small glitch, when you wave the mouse over the upgrades button, the Borg Uni-Complex regeneration feature shows up as a second Elite Assimilation.  I'm also not sure if the Borg Jump Inhibitors are working right... I'm not getting any kind of radius of effect.  Other than that no bugs I can see....

However.... I have to ask one question... and if someone wants to PM me instead of posting it publically, that's fine.... but what is up with the X-class planets?  I was fighting a battle in one and next thing... well, lets just say things got.... interesting.  I suspect what may be going on... but I'm not sure, and I don't want to say anything out loud....  spoilers, sweetie... lol....

Awesome job y'all.... this was a great Christmas present!!!

Good catch, looks like regeneration ability is using the wrong string ID.

X class planets have a ~180 file interlinking ability system that generates random events, triggered by various means.

Consider them an extra risky endeavor and you should be alright.

The xclass you encountered needs a particle effect made so you know what happened.

X-class are treks demon worlds, each may have something that will make you have to think of how to deal with it.

Demon worlds... from Voyager... Oh yeah, I remember that one... wait, two episodes. Second one was very sad.... That explains a lot, thank you.  But weren't they Y class, not X class?

I'm playing a 1 on 4 game right now as the Borg.... even at 4 against me, I'm way OP and there's no way I can lose now, so I should just quit the at this point. But since the other races are basically giving me free ships to assimilate, this might give me a chance to experiment with different ships and the Demon.

I'm not gonna post what has happened to me, or what I intend to do, out loud.... spoilers.... but thanks, this confirms it was something that was supposed to happen, and not a weird bug.....

Oh, speaking of bugs.... I uploaded the SOA2.0.6.9.7z patch last night.  The game I was playing kept going fine, but I encountered a strange thing with my uni-complexes ending up with names like "Klingon" or Dominion".... not sure if it's the patched string or what.  The game is still going strong (I'm about 6 hours into it), and I normally re-name my Uni's anyway, but I wanted to point it out.

Thanks again everyone!

Other planet classifications based on the Star Trek series

Class X and Z Reserved for other designations of "demon" planets
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_M_planet

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Planetary_classification lists as Y-class but I personally liked X-class

I will look into your uni issue
