Top 25 Games of the Decade [Results are In!]

With the end of the decade approaching, I've been seeing a lot of "Top _____ of the Decade" lists popping up. So I thought I would make my own, but instead of them just being based off of my own (very biased:P ) opinions, it should be everybody's opinions. So for the next 3ish weeks, everybody will be able to nominate whatever games they think are the best of the decade. I will put them all into a list here, and at the end of the 3 weeks, everyone will get to vote on what they think are the best. Voting will be open for 2 weeks, then I will post the results.

Rules:

  1. Game must have come out between January 1, 2000 and November 30, 2009. December 2009 will not be included, because it will be hard to determine how good the game is in only a week or two.
  2. Games can be on any platform/system. PC, Xbox360, PS3, Wii, Gamecube, DS, Xbox, PS2, etc, etc. Cross platform doesn't matter. Just make sure they came out this decade!
  3. Betas of games cannot be nominated (no Elemental, sorry:'( )
  4. Nominations will end at 12:00 AM Mountain Time December 19 (I want to use my own time zone, so sue me:P ) and voting will begin shortly after that.
  5. Voting will end 12:00 AM Mountain time January 1, at which point I will post the results.

You are missing Space Rangers 2, which actually is my game of the decade. Not that it actually stands a chance, if it hasn't gotten a nomination by now.

You could also nominate Titan Quest which for a minority of people seems to be ahead of Diablo 2. I didn't realize D2 belongs on the list, for me it seems like it may have come out at the end-nineties, but it indeed was mid-2000.

Considering that WoW is on the list, is there really an election needed? Or could The Sims pose a challenge?

Edit: What about nominating Master of Orion III? There's a game that shouldn't get a single vote. And if it gets one anyway, we could wonder who did it. I am just making an attempt at being funny, btw. This is not a request for nomination of Moo3.

That game really is awesome, well as long as you mod the AI. (Thank you DAIM) I can't count the number of hours I've poured into that game.

How on earth did Heroes of Might & Magic IV get on that list??  By almost all accounts, it's a piece of crap, and the worst installment in the entire HOMM series.

Yeah, unfortunately it isn't possible to change that. The only site I could find that let you do that was survey monkey, and the free version of that was limited to 100 responses. This was the best compromise I could find.

EDIT: Ok, I added another choice "I clicked this game by accident, ignore it" That should get around the problem of not being able to deselect.

I'm wondering why SupCom:FA is a separate listing from SupCom?  Seems to me expansions should be alotted with their parent game so as not to vote-split...

Anyways, the list I ended up going with was:

I wasn't really sure what to do with it. It's not an expansion in the usual sense, in some ways it differed enough from the original to be considered a new game.

And yes, there are a lot of less than awesome games on there, but that is what people nominated. If it was nominated, it went on the list. And like Darvin said, they won't be getting very many votes.

I wonder about Baldurs Gate 2 though. I tried it but it went so fast that my Barbarian died all the time. Then there were so much text as well....

Then there's Civilization which I don't agree with but it's nevertheless a good list :)

HIV is a disease of a game and should be damned and cursed and buried never to be seen again. Strangely enough, quite some people over at Celestialheavens like Heroes IV :S
